Celebrating Vietnam's 80th National Day in Thailand: Together we continue to write new chapters of success and cooperation

On the evening of October 9, at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok (Thailand), the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by Second Vice President of the Thai House of Representatives Chalat Khamchuang; Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijavat Isarabhakdi; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eksiri Pintaruchi; General Suchart Thepraksa, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense ; Admiral Suchart Thampitakei, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy; General Nuttapong Praokaew, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff; and more than 700 guests representing government agencies, the National Assembly; associations and the business community; diplomatic corps, international friends and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Thailand.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized that the path that the country and people of Vietnam have taken over the past 80 years has been full of hardships, sacrifices and pride. Although there are many difficulties and challenges ahead, Vietnam is determined and will strive to achieve the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization", building a strong, prosperous and happy Vietnam by 2045; persistently pursuing the foreign policy of "independence, self-reliance, peace , friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations; being a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community".

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung also affirmed that the people of Vietnam and Thailand in general, and colleagues and partners in each country will work together to foster, expand and deepen the bilateral relationship within the new framework of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world .

Representing the Thai Government, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijavat Isarabhakdi affirmed the deep and sustainable relationship between the two countries; stating that over the past decades, the two governments have made joint efforts to promote comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples. Emphasizing that Vietnam and Thailand have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, demonstrating the strong commitment of the two countries' leaders to deepen strategic dialogue, promote economic cooperation, as well as enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, delivered a congratulatory speech to Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its national day.

According to Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, economic cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam brings many benefits to the Mekong sub-region and the wider Southeast Asian region. Thailand and Vietnam are currently one of each other's important trade partners. Vietnam is the leading destination for Thai investors. In recent years, Vietnam has also emerged as an important investor in Thailand. This demonstrates Vietnam's achievements in economic development.

Thai Foreign Minister Advisor Vijavat Isarabhakdi affirmed that the relationship between the two peoples is the foundation of the friendship between Thailand and Vietnam. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi also said that Thailand and Vietnam will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, marking an important milestone, believing that Thailand and Vietnam will continue to write new chapters of success and cooperation, promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth of the two countries, the two peoples and the Southeast Asian region.

The ceremony took place in the cultural space of Vietnam and Hanoi, with a culinary area introducing many typical traditional dishes such as bun cha, banh cuon, banh xeo, banh bot loc, Vietnamese coffee..., giving guests a real experience of Vietnamese culture.

The art program at the event also made a strong impression with special performances such as the dance "Brilliant Vietnam" performed by students of the Faculty of Performing Arts and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, recreating the traditional beauty and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people. The dance performance "See Tinh" was vibrant and youthful, demonstrating the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity in Vietnamese music, showing the strong influence of Vietnamese culture in international art life. Along with that was the monochord ensemble and musical exchanges between the Royal Thai Navy Band and Vietnamese artists, creating a profound cultural and artistic exchange atmosphere.
