Children in Ho Chi Minh City will soon have a "common home"

On October 10, at Thu Thiem New Urban Area (An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace. The project welcomes the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace has a total land area of ​​39,911.50m2 , construction floor area of ​​38,012.05m2 , ensuring spacious, multifunctional space.

The project scale includes 1 basement, 1 ground floor and 9 floors to create a place for entertainment and recreation for children in the city with a modern infrastructure system, personality training games, physical activities, playground, fairy garden, geography and history introduction area...

What makes the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace different and unique is the formation of a comprehensive children's service complex, harmoniously combining indoor and outdoor spaces.

This complex is not just a building, but an interactive one, creating maximum conditions for children to learn, play, and develop social and physical skills.

In particular, the main building (indoor) has an architectural design inspired by the dynamism and creativity of children. Inside, there are fully integrated professional areas such as 4 auditoriums, a multi-purpose hall from 300-600 seats, 6 cinemas from 127-175 seats, art classrooms, martial arts, engineering, talent, physical training playground... Each floor is a different world of architecture and experience.

Outdoor and landscape projects focus on creating creative playgrounds, combining physical education and environmental education. The landscape is designed to be green with small parks, a central square to host major events and group activities, along with small discovery areas to help children get closer to nature.

The highlight of this project is the Water Square - Outdoor Grandstand with 1,308 covered seats, area of ​​about 1,246m2 .

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace is not only a construction project but also a project that realizes the deep concern and special affection of the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for the future generations of the city.

The groundbreaking ceremony today is the strongest commitment to a comprehensive and modern development environment for children in the city named after beloved Uncle Ho.

“The city decided to build the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area with the determination and vision towards the dual goals of education, human development and urban development. This orientation also aims to implement and realize the direction of Comrade To Lam , General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , for the city, which is to develop Ho Chi Minh City, an international metropolis of Southeast Asia, typical not only of economic strength but also of richness in culture, art, sports and entertainment", Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized.

According to comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, the project is a comprehensive cultural and sports education center, a place to nurture talents, practice social and physical skills and shape the personality of the young generation of Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the most sustainable investment for the future of the city, and at the same time, placing the Children's Palace in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area affirms the important vision of this area.

The project will contribute to creating a unique architectural highlight, a green, clean and beautiful space; contributing to the synchronous and complete development of social infrastructure of Thu Thiem New Urban Area, turning this place into a model urban area, worth living as oriented by Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace project was approved with a value of VND1,124 billion, allocated from the city budget for the term until December 31, 2028.
