Strongly promote digital transformation in the tourism sector

Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy said that, grasping the digitalization trend, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has implemented policies and deployed many digital transformation activities in the tourism sector.

On the afternoon of October 10, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, providing information on solutions for the tourism industry to complete the target of welcoming 25 million international visitors, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy said that with the target of welcoming 25 million international visitors in 2025, the tourism industry must ensure both economic development and national security. This is a huge challenge for the tourism industry.

Therefore, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration has identified these as two issues among many major solutions that need to be implemented in the coming time to complete the goal and accelerate the breakthrough.

According to Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy, from October this year to March next year is the peak season for welcoming international visitors. Therefore, it is necessary to have a growth scenario to attract tourists, from which to propose key solutions.

There are 4 solutions that need to be focused on, which are diversifying products, building unique and special tourism products, especially products that tourists need, and increasing the promotion of these products. Promoting the connection between businesses to create a complete package of products to serve tourists from transportation, accommodation, food, entertainment, shopping...

Strengthen communication and promotion activities, especially in key and emerging markets, to create conditions for businesses to connect and exchange tourists, ensuring that tourists come to Vietnam in the most convenient and safe way.

  The Prime Minister instructed localities to digitally transform tourism in sync with the digital transformation content chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With favorable policies like today, businesses need to take advantage of golden opportunities and apply market policies to bring international visitors.

Regarding digital transformation activities in tourism, Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy shared that digital transformation is very important not only for the tourism industry but for all fields.

Grasping the digitalization trend, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has implemented policies and deployed many digital transformation activities in the tourism sector.

Currently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has established a Council to evaluate the national digital platform for tourism management and business. Based on appropriate criteria, in the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will select a platform to announce as a national digital platform.

This will be a shared digital platform for the tourism industry so that businesses and tourists can exploit digital data for tourism promotion and business activities, and search for information about Vietnam tourism...
