Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy attended the first World Nuclear Week Forum in Moscow, Russian Federation.

Within the framework of international cooperation on atomic energy, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy attended the first World Nuclear Week Forum, taking place from September 25-29, 2025 in Moscow, Russian Federation. This important event is an opportunity for Vietnam to demonstrate its commitment to developing nuclear energy in a safe, sustainable and responsible manner.

The World Nuclear Week Forum is a major international event that brings together leaders, experts and representatives from governments, international organizations, industry and academia around the world. The forum aims to promote dialogue, cooperation and knowledge sharing on issues related to nuclear energy, including safety, security, technological development, applications in medicine, agriculture and industry. The first World Nuclear Week was organized by Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation in Moscow. The event received support from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on the occasion of Russia's 80th anniversary of the founding of the nuclear industry.

Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the Forum. Also attending the event with the Russian leader were Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Myanmar Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, as well as representatives from Iran, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Nigeria and a number of specialized organizations.

During his time at the Forum, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy attended the Opening Ceremony and a number of main activities taking place at the Forum such as the High-level Summit "From the New Technology Path to the New World", the Global Nuclear Forum, and visited the Atomic Museum and exhibition.

During the meetings with senior leaders of Rosatom and IAEA at the Conference, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy highly appreciated the role of IAEA in sharing and exchanging information related to the development of science, technology and promoting nuclear applications; issues of ensuring nuclear safety and security. The Deputy Minister also emphasized that in recent years, Vietnam has always attached importance to promoting research on the application of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Deputy Minister Bui The Duy’s participation in the first World Nuclear Week Forum is a testament to Vietnam’s commitment to developing nuclear energy in a safe, sustainable and responsible manner. Vietnam’s active participation in international forums will contribute to promoting the development of the nuclear energy industry worldwide and bring benefits to the Vietnamese people.

At the World Nuclear Week Forum, in addition to the main events, the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam participated in a number of specialized events with topics such as: (i) "Cooperation network between universities and businesses"; (ii) "The symphony of neutron streams as a progressive music: how research reactors "sound" in everyday life"; (iii) "Linked by a single atom: Technology and sustainability in focus"; (iv) "Strategic session within the framework of the World Nuclear Week Youth program for 100 outstanding young experts from Russia and abroad".
