The authorities and people of Ky Xuan commune pulled the fishing boat and fishermen in distress to shore.

The tornado was so sudden that the fishermen could not reach shore in time. The boats of Mr. Nguyen Van Song (Xuan Tien village), Tran Trong Tuong and Phan Hong Dang, all from Xuan Phu village, were sunk.

Upon receiving the information, the local authorities mobilized forces to promptly bring the fishermen ashore safely. The two fishing boats of fishermen Nguyen Van Song and Tran Trong Tuong were also pulled ashore; only the boat of fisherman Phan Hong Dang sank near the shore but due to big waves and strong winds, it could not be salvaged.

At the same time, the boat of fisherman Nguyen Van Hieu (Le Loi village, Ky Xuan commune) who was fishing for squid also encountered a tornado. With his experience, knowing that he could not reach the shore in time, Mr. Hieu proactively steered the boat into the wind. During that process, Mr. Hieu rescued fisherman Nguyen Minh Duc (Phu Hai village, Ky Anh commune) who was drifting at sea about 1.5 miles from the mainland.

It is known that fisherman Nguyen Minh Duc was also fishing for squid when a whirlwind sank his boat, leaving him drifting at sea.
