Mr. Dang Van Chinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of provincial departments and branches received and worked with the working delegation.

According to the Department of Construction of Vinh Long province, immediately after the administrative unit arrangement, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to continue to urgently review and assess the housing needs of low-income people, workers, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, etc. to develop and advise the Provincial People's Committee to promulgate annual and 5-year social housing development plans and targets for the period 2026-2030 according to the targets assigned by the Prime Minister .

In 2025, Vinh Long province will implement 10 social housing projects. The number of completed apartments is nearly 1,200. Since the beginning of 2025, 1,063 social housing units have been started. The number of apartments eligible for sale is 1,307.

At the meeting, the province presented a number of difficulties and problems. At the same time, it recommended that the Government soon issue regulations on the establishment of Housing Funds at all levels according to Resolution No. 201 dated May 29, 2025 of the National Assembly, in order to provide more resources to help localities create clean land funds, support investment and carry out social housing development tasks.

Dong Thap Province Department of Construction informed that as of September 2025, the province has completed 563 social housing units, eligible for sale and lease according to regulations. Currently, there are 9 social housing projects being implemented in the province, with a total of 4,586 units. The province is calling for investment in 5 social housing projects, with a total of 2,293 units. The progress of construction of social housing projects is still slow; investment capital for social housing development mainly comes from private enterprises; investment capital from the state budget is still limited.

Deputy Minister of Construction - Pham Minh Ha emphasized that localities need to carefully review the demand for social housing in the area; review, collect difficulties and problems and propose recommendations on improving institutions and policies. The Deputy Minister requested localities to soon complete the report so that the Department of Housing Management and Real Estate Market Management can synthesize, grasp the situation and propose solutions, and report to the Prime Minister on the implementation results.
