Responding to the emulation movement for good production and business, Mr. Le Van Tinh's family (Xuan Cam village) pioneered the conversion of more than 2.5 hectares of ineffective rice fields to grow Siamese coconut trees. Thanks to diligent care and application of new techniques in cultivation, his family's more than 1,500 Siamese coconut trees have grown well and have been harvested after 3 years. Mr. Tinh shared: "On average, my family harvests once a month, with more than 1,500 fruits, selling for 10,000 - 15,000 VND/fruit. The fruits are beautiful and sweet, so traders love them and come to the garden to buy them. Taking advantage of the coconut canopy, the family also raises cows and chickens. Thanks to that, each year they earn more than 300 million VND." From the economic efficiency of Mr. Tinh's family, the locality has expanded and developed the Siamese coconut growing model with an area of more than 45 hectares. Local coconut trees grow well, have beautiful fruit, sweet water, and stable prices and output. Currently, Van Hung commune’s green coconuts have been granted a 3-star OCOP certificate.

The high-tech shrimp farming model of Van Hung commune people brings high income.

In addition to the coconut growing model, Van Hung commune also developed a garlic growing model, with an area of 150 hectares, becoming the main product, with an output of 1,500 tons/year. The commune has established a garlic production cooperative. To facilitate production and increase product value, in addition to investing in traffic and irrigation infrastructure and supporting capital, in recent times, the locality has organized training and guided people on plant care techniques, applying water-saving misting irrigation systems; especially establishing garlic growing area codes. Garlic farmers are actively building a brand for garlic products after achieving 3 OCOP stars.

Taking advantage of abundant mineral resources, the commune also creates conditions for people to invest in developing the cubic stone crafting profession and has been recognized as a craft village, with 130 households, more than 600 workers, bringing in an income of 8 - 30 million VND/person/month...

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuong Phai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Hung commune, in recent times, the locality has proactively innovated, created, responded, and launched practical emulation movements, associated with political tasks and actual conditions. From 2020 to now, the locality has mobilized more than 80 billion VND to invest in rural infrastructure construction, such as: Concreting and asphalting roads; building cultural houses, sports areas; completing the system of intra-field canals and lighting. Thanks to that, the appearance of the commune has changed positively; the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. Poverty reduction and social security work has been focused on. The commune has supported the construction of 7 Great Unity houses, repaired 10 houses for union members, with an amount of more than 650 million VND; given more than 500 gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged students... The rate of poor households has decreased to 0.43%, near-poor households below 3%. The number of employed workers increased by an average of 368 people per year. Social security policies were implemented promptly and to the right target.

Along with that, administrative reform and digital transformation have been focused on. The rate of timely settlement of records has increased, and people's satisfaction has been increasingly improved. In economic development, the locality has made efforts to implement many drastic solutions. Thanks to that, the value of agricultural production has increased by an average of 10% per year; aquaculture has increased by more than 9% per year. Effective economic models, such as: High-tech shrimp farming, garlic cultivation, snail farming... help increase income and create jobs for people. The fields of trade, services, and construction have grown steadily. Education, health, culture, and social security have achieved many positive results. Up to now, the commune has 5/5 schools meeting national standards, the rate of people participating in health insurance has reached over 95%...

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Phai said, imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation "The more difficult the situation, the more we must compete", the locality determined that innovation in emulation and reward work is not only a regular task but also an urgent requirement in the new situation. To improve the effectiveness of this work, the locality links emulation movements with the key political tasks of each sector, agency, unit and the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. In addition, specific targets are set to measure the effectiveness of emulation, notably: The average growth rate of total product value in the locality reaches 15%/year; total social investment capital increases by an average of 22%/year; average income per capita increases by 15%/year; the multidimensional poverty rate decreases to less than 1% by 2030; the rate of using online public services reaches over 85%; 100% of schools meet national standards; 90% of workers are trained, of which 45% have degrees and certificates...

In addition, the locality has widely deployed emulation movements, focusing on "Building new rural areas", "Converting the structure of crop and livestock varieties"...; improving the content and form of specialized emulation movements to effectively solve key tasks on: Infrastructure development, administrative reform, digital transformation, improving the investment environment; diversified development, improving the quality of services and tourism; solving environmental pollution; improving the quality of human resources, creating jobs, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, ensuring social security, maintaining security, national defense and social order and safety. Thereby, creating a widespread emulation force in all fields, contributing to the completion of socio-economic development goals, improving people's lives.
