Continue to update the project list in Power Plan VIII and adjusted Power Plan VIII

The Department of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee an updated list of projects in the VIII Power Plan and the adjusted VIII Power Plan.

The Department of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee an updated list of projects in the VIII Power Plan and the adjusted VIII Power Plan.

Of these, 14 wind power projects (over 1,099MW), 1 biomass project (25MW) and 1 waste-to-energy plant (15MW) are under implementation; 5 wind power projects (272MW) are selecting investors and 5 wind power projects (237MW) are undergoing PreFS appraisal.

The Department also proposed to add to the provincial planning 16 wind power projects (1,998 MW), 3 solar power projects (150 MW), 4 biomass projects (40 MW) and 3 waste-to-energy projects (42 MW), advise on the issuance of procedures for implementing energy projects and review the list of land recovery and conversion.

To date, the province has operated 4 types of power sources with a total capacity of 5,422 MW. Of which, there are 4 coal-fired thermal power plants with a total capacity of 4,498 MW, 13 wind power plants with a total capacity of 572 MW, 2 solar power projects with a capacity of 189 MW, 4,417 rooftop solar power systems, with a total installed capacity of 163.8 MW. According to the report, the production output in the first 9 months of 2025 reached more than 18,308 million kWh, reaching 69.35%, up 7.14% over the same period.
