Chinese aircraft COMAC to perform at Tan Son Nhat

China first "introduced" the C919 aircraft to the international market at the Airshow 2024 events in Singapore, then in Van Don, Quang Ninh province for 4 days (from February 26 to February 29).

The C919 and ARJ21 are the first two civil aircraft in China designed and manufactured by COMAC, of which the ARJ21-700 is a twin-engine jet with a maximum of 90 seats, and the C919 is a narrow-body passenger aircraft with a maximum of 192 seats.

The C919 is nearly 39m long, has a maximum capacity of 192 passengers, and a maximum range of 4,075km. According to previously released images, the C919 has a seat configuration similar to the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320/321 models with a central aisle and two rows of seats (3 on each side). The C919 has ambitions to compete with the Boeing 737 and Airbus 320.

According to aviation businesses, this aircraft is moving from Van Don to locations such as Con Dao, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang . Demonstrating this type of Chinese aircraft in Vietnam, domestic airlines are considering effective options, evaluating the operating range of the pair of C19 and ARJ21 aircraft to consider investment and operation.

The number of full-term babies born with birth defects is decreasing.

According to the director of Hung Vuong Hospital, thanks to the prenatal screening program, the number of full-term babies born with defects is decreasing and these defects can be corrected.

Specifically, about 20-30 years ago, when there was no prenatal screening program, each year Hung Vuong Hospital recorded 200-300 full-term babies born with abnormalities and congenital defects.

Since the program was developed, approximately 100 children are born with birth defects each year. Most of these birth defects are treatable, detected during prenatal screening, and diagnosed and determined to be treatable after birth.

"The prenatal screening program detects early congenital malformations, especially multiple malformations, so that interventions can be made such as early termination of pregnancy, reducing the psychological impact on the pregnant woman, and reducing the time of pregnancy and childbirth," Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet, Director of Hung Vuong Hospital, said at the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding on the cooperation project of screening for pregnancy diseases with Gene Solutions Lab.

Vietnamese steel pipes enter Japanese retail chain

Steel pipes manufactured by Hoa Phat Company in Vietnam are "on the shelves" of a retail chain of 1,200 stores in Japan for the first time.

Steel pipes exported to Japan are sold in the form of "DIY", meaning the products are delivered directly to the people. Japanese consumers will buy steel pipes for many different applications such as: making scaffolding for planting trees, wood shelves, making garages, household products...

To penetrate this market, steel pipe products have met quality standards for strength and corrosion resistance, high weather resistance, especially in the cold climate of Japan. The product is applied to outdoor products in harsh weather conditions.

"It is expected that in the near future, the Japanese partner will come to Vietnam to discuss orders for 2024 and plans to continue importing other product lines after this order" - Hoa Phat representative informed.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in January 2024, Vietnam's export turnover of goods to the Japanese market reached more than 2.2 billion USD, up 11.4% over the previous month and up 44.9% over the same period last year.
