(Dan Tri) - General Secretary To Lam attended the opening session of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress. This is a particularly important political event for the Party Committee and people of the capital.

On the morning of October 15, the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030, solemnly opened at the National Convention Center.

The 18th Hanoi Party Congress took place over three days, October 15-17. This is a particularly important political event for the Party Committee and people of the capital.

The theme of the 18th Congress is: "Promoting the thousand-year tradition of civilization and heroism; uniting to build a clean and strong Party organization; pioneering and making breakthroughs in the new era; developing a civilized, modern and happy Capital" .

The motto of the 18th Congress is: " Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development" .

There were 550 outstanding delegates, representing the intelligence, will and aspirations of nearly 500,000 party members of the entire Hanoi Party Committee attending the congress.

The Congress will carry out four tasks, including summarizing the implementation of the Party Congress Resolution for the 2020-2025 term and determining the directions, goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress; electing the City Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term; and electing the delegation to attend the 14th Party Congress.

Speaking at the opening of the preparatory session on the afternoon of October 14, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai asked delegates to continue researching and contributing their intelligence to clarify and illustrate the overall picture, affirming the achievements the city has made and the limitations and shortcomings that need to be overcome and corrected.

In particular, recommend and propose breakthrough solutions for the capital to make a breakthrough in the coming time, as requested by the Hanoi Secretary.

Regarding the election of the 18th City Party Executive Committee and the delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress, the Hanoi Secretary noted that at each congress, the election of the City Party Executive Committee is extremely important.

Because the City Party Executive Committee is the highest leadership body between two congresses, it is responsible for leading the entire City Party Committee to successfully implement the resolutions of the congresses, according to the Hanoi Secretary.

Ms. Hoai said that in preparing personnel for the Congress, the Hanoi Party Committee has closely followed and strictly implemented the Party's regulations, the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, fully implemented the steps and procedures according to regulations, ensuring objectivity, democracy, publicity and transparency in building the personnel plan.

According to Ms. Hoai, the personnel plan presented to the congress has been appraised by competent authorities and approved by the Politburo.

The Hanoi Secretary asked the delegates to uphold their sense of responsibility for the common development of the city to elect cadres with good moral qualities, capacity, resilience, daring to think, daring to do, innovation and creativity to the 18th City Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, this City Party Congress has many innovations, applying technology to serve the congress, creating favorable conditions for delegates in studying congress documents.

According to the scheduled program, on the afternoon of October 16, the congress will elect the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, term XVIII.

The number of personnel of the 18th City Party Executive Committee includes 75 people (4 more than present); the number of Standing Committee includes 17 people; the number of Standing Committee of the City Party Committee includes 5 people.
