Ho Chi Minh City will build two monuments at 23/9 Park and Thu Thiem new urban area.

On October 10, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City announced the construction of the Southern Resistance Monument and the Reunification Statue. The Reunification Monument is expected to be located in Thu Thiem while the Southern Resistance Monument is expected to be located in 23/9 Park.

According to this Department, the plans for building monuments must ensure criteria of space, solemnity, harmony and proportion with the regional landscape and urban aesthetics.

Both monuments are expected to highlight historical and cultural values ​​for the city and the country. The location of the monuments will be an attractive destination for tourists from the city and surrounding areas.

According to the Department of Culture and Sports, to implement these monuments, Ho Chi Minh City is preparing to organize a competition for plans and ideas to build two monuments.

The city has decided to build the Southern Resistance Monument in Area A, 23/9 Park (District 1). Contestants must design the landscape of the area and the scale and size of the monument to match the landscape space of 23/9 Park, ensuring the construction density of the entire area and the landscape in front of Ben Thanh Market and the metro line.

The Reunification Monument is planned to be built in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City), in the space of Thu Thiem Square, central lake park, on To Huu Street.

The competition unit will design the landscape architecture and scale of the monument to suit the general space of the statue's location, creating a unique landscape for the area.
