Ho Chi Minh City: Fire breaks out in 15th floor apartment of Tam Phu apartment building, residents panic and run away

At noon on October 12, an apartment on the 15th floor, block A1 of Tam Phu apartment building (38 Cay Keo street, Tam Binh ward, Ho Chi Minh city) suddenly caught fire, causing many residents to panic and evacuate.

According to residents, at the time of the fire, no one was in the apartment. Smoke quickly rose from the apartment and spread to neighboring floors. Ms. Thanh Ha, a resident of the 14th floor, shared: “While my family was eating, we smelled a burning smell, then smoke rushed into the house. My husband and I immediately carried our two children and ran down to the ground floor. If we had been a little slower, we would have suffocated from the smoke, but luckily the door was open so we could escape in time.”

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police ( Ho Chi Minh City Police) dispatched 3 fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out firefighting and rescue work. After about 10 minutes, the fire was completely controlled.

At the scene, the fire damaged many items in the bedroom and household items in the apartment. The cause and property damage are being investigated.
