The award ceremony of the 3rd National Art Photography Contest and Exhibition "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" in 2025 took place on the evening of October 16 in Hanoi .
The program is chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and relevant agencies.
Attending the award ceremony were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that through three times of organizing the national art photography contest "Fatherland on the shore of the waves", it has created many impressions and had a wide influence, becoming one of the effective methods in information and propaganda work on seas, islands and international integration.
Highly appreciating the contest results and congratulating the authors whose excellent works were awarded, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia acknowledged the departments, ministries, branches, central agencies, provincial and municipal Party Committees, press and media agencies for promoting a sense of responsibility, coordinating synchronously and effectively, and successfully organizing the contest.

Pointing out that the world context is undergoing many changes, bringing with it opportunities, advantages, difficulties and challenges intertwined, and that the country is implementing many major strategic tasks, posing many new issues and higher requirements for the cause of national construction, development and protection of the Fatherland, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission requested that agencies and units from the central to local levels pay attention to implementing well the three key contents.
In particular, deeply and comprehensively understand the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines, the State's legal policies on seas and islands; continue to innovate the content and methods of information and propaganda work on seas and islands, especially foreign information to propagate the Party and State's policies and guidelines to cadres, party members, people of all walks of life in the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
Agencies and units focus on promoting the image of the country, culture and Vietnamese people to the world, so that culture truly becomes "soft power" to enhance the country's position and prestige.
In particular, it is important to grasp the ideological situation and social mood, promptly detect and handle wrong viewpoints and acts of exploiting sea, island, ethnic and religious issues to sabotage the great national unity bloc and the friendly relations between Vietnam and neighboring countries, countries in the region and internationally.
Along with that, focus resources on digital transformation, improve combativeness, education, and persuasiveness in information and propaganda work on seas and islands; strengthen effective coordination between forces; link information and propaganda content on seas and islands with the implementation of political tasks of all levels, sectors, and localities.
"From the success of today's contest and award ceremony, with new spirit, new motivation, new determination, we believe that the information and propaganda work on seas and islands in the coming time will have more positive, creative and effective breakthroughs, with contests of higher quality, wider spread, attracting the attention and participation of a large number of artists, intellectuals and people of all walks of life in the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends," affirmed the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.
At the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia and other leaders presented logos, medals and certificates to the winning authors; and presented Certificates of Merit from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission to 8 provinces and cities with outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of the contest.
From the results of the 3rd "Fatherland on the Shore" Contest, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the compilation of: bilingual photo books, electronic photo books, virtual reality exhibitions and organize photo exhibitions in provinces and cities.

The national art photography contest and exhibition "Fatherland on the shore" is held every two years to promote the majestic and lyrical beauty of nature and people of Vietnam's seas and islands; vividly reflecting the life, work, production and the task of preserving the sovereignty and security of the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.
After three seasons, the national art photography contest "Fatherland on the shore" has affirmed its own identity, strong influence and prestigious position.
This is not only an art playground but also an activity with profound political and cultural significance, receiving widespread attention and response from all walks of life, especially photography artists.
Launched from March to July 2025, the Contest received 15,770 photographic works from 3,514 authors from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Not only did the quantity increase, the quality of this year's works also made significant progress.
Through elaborate judging rounds, the Jury selected 150 outstanding works to introduce at the Exhibition, and the 22 best works were awarded prizes.
The two first prize winners of the contest were Nguyen Viet Hoang Long (Quang Ninh) with the single photo "Under the shadow of the national flag"; Nguyen Khac Hao (Hung Yen) with the photo series "Bustling anchovy season"./.
