The film, directed by Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dieu Hoa and written by Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Thu Huong, deeply depicts the portraits of soldiers who have "experienced life and death" but still maintain the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers on the "new front".
The central characters are three veterans Tran Hong Quang, Vu Xuan Tuy and Phan Trong Dien, who returned from the flames of war, carrying injuries but not succumbing to fate.

Screenwriter Tran Thi Thu Huong shared: “The soldiers who fought against the flames of war in the past now face another front, fighting against injuries, poverty, and oblivion, to build a life and spread the spirit of disabled but not useless soldiers.”
The film realistically recreates the journey of overcoming difficulties and dedication: Mr. Tran Hong Quang founded the Quang Minh Disabled War Enterprise, creating jobs for hundreds of people; Mr. Phan Trong Dien maintained the bronze casting profession, teaching the profession for free to children of policy families; and Mr. Vu Xuan Tuy established the sedge craft in his hometown, helping the disadvantaged to support themselves with their own hands...
Without noise or fuss, the film leads the audience through each slice of fate, where the past and present go hand in hand, where the soldier's will is once again tested in peace .

In an emotional scene, at the Quang Minh Museum in Hai Phong , three veterans Tran Hong Quang, Vu Xuan Tuy and Phan Trong Dien quietly walk past time-worn artifacts: black and white photos, a canteen, a faded shirt...
They had been in different battlefields, with different injuries, but today, in a space filled with memories, they found each other in sharing and empathy. Meeting again was not only to reminisce about the past, but also to discuss business, to encourage each other to move forward. As the commentary in the film mentioned: "The spirit of the soldiers is still intact, only now, they are entering a "new front" of the war to bring prosperity to their families, comrades and the community".

Director Nguyen Dieu Hoa emotionally said: “The last frame stops at Truong Son Cemetery, where silver-haired people bow down to burn incense to pay tribute to their comrades, next to them are students with clear eyes. That continuity is like a message that the flame of memory and responsibility to the Fatherland will forever shine in the hearts of generations.”
