As one of the four units assigned by the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses of Bac Giang Province to be financially autonomous, in recent times, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses at all levels of Tan Yen District has had many creative and effective ways to implement the Program.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Yen district said that right from the stage of reviewing and evaluating temporary and dilapidated houses, the appraisal team implemented flexibly and methodically; the evaluation results were carried out publicly and transparently, thereby creating high consensus among the people. During the construction process, the District Steering Committee directed the support plan, specifically unifying each household in the direction of connecting the sponsoring unit with the needs of the household. Thereby, creating sympathy and increasing the trust of philanthropists.

According to Mr. Ngoc, during the implementation process, the Steering Committees at district and commune levels regularly inspect, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Program in localities, thereby promptly grasping and resolving difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process at the grassroots level.

Thanks to that, up to now, the whole district has 46,945 collectives and individuals supporting over 6.5 billion VND, exceeding the initial registration by over 2 billion VND. Armed forces and organizations in the district supported 1,640 working days to dismantle and transport materials. In addition, many businesses, entrepreneurs and member organizations of the Fatherland Front at all levels supported construction materials such as bricks, doors, wall paint and household appliances and tools worth billions of VND.

“Up to now, the program to mobilize support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Tan Yen district has been basically completed; 30 temporary and dilapidated houses have been handed over to households. For households with meritorious services in renovating and upgrading their houses, Tan Yen has also completed 15 houses, 30 houses are under construction” - Mr. Huy shared.

Also according to the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Yen district, through statistics and review, the district currently has 29 households living in temporary and dilapidated houses, 109 poor and near-poor households, and 183 households of meritorious people requesting support for new construction and repair of housing. With the district's guiding viewpoint, we strive to support the elimination of 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2024.

“In order for no one to live in a dilapidated house, Tan Yen district is making efforts to mobilize the entire political system to participate, and encourage businesses to join hands to support. Each subject eligible for temporary house removal will receive support of 100 million VND. The program to remove temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households that Tan Yen is focusing on implementing has a direct impact on social security, and is an important criterion in the process of hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Tan Yen is determined to complete the removal of temporary houses before June 30,” Mr. Ngoc affirmed.
