Tay Ninh established Environmental Protection Fund

On October 4, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province announced that it had just issued a decision to establish the Tay Ninh Provincial Environmental Protection Fund on the basis of merging the Environmental Protection Fund management function of the Long An Provincial Development Investment Fund and the Tay Ninh Provincial Environmental Protection Fund.

Accordingly, the Tay Ninh Provincial Environmental Protection Fund performs the function of receiving capital from the budget, sponsored capital, aid, mobilized from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals and other capital sources according to regulations to finance and lend at preferential interest rates; support loan interest rates for projects to prevent, combat and overcome environmental pollution, degradation and incidents, thereby contributing to improving environmental quality, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the locality.

Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee said that Tay Ninh Provincial Environmental Protection Fund is allowed to directly interact with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to negotiate and sign contracts for capital mobilization, receiving sponsorship, entrustment, lending, and loan interest support, on the principles of voluntariness, equality, cooperation, and mutual benefit, in accordance with Vietnamese law.

The Environmental Protection Fund has legal status, independent accounting, uses the seal of the Tay Ninh Provincial Development Investment Fund, and opens accounts at the State Treasury and credit institutions to operate according to regulations.

At the same time, report to the Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee to decide to suspend and revoke support and loan capital when detecting organizations and individuals violating regulations on capital use of the Fund.

The Tay Ninh Provincial Environmental Protection Fund is a state financial organization under the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, under the direct and comprehensive management of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; and at the same time under the state financial management of the Department of Finance. The Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee entrusts the Tay Ninh Provincial Development Investment Fund to manage the capital and operations of the Environmental Protection Fund.
