Vietnam women's volleyball team finalizes list to participate in VTV Cup 2025

Right after completing the competition at the AVC Nations Cup 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will continue to prepare to participate in the VTV Cup.

This year's VTV Cup will take place from June 28 to July 5 at Vinh Phuc Provincial Gymnasium. The tournament will feature 8 teams, divided into 2 groups.

Group A includes: Vietnam women's volleyball team, Sichuan Club (China), Australia, PetroGazz Angels Club (Philippines).

Group B includes: U21 Vietnam, U21 Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Korabelka Club (Russia).

On the afternoon of June 18, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet announced the list of 14 names that will participate in VTV Cup 2025. There were not many surprises when he only changed one position compared to the AVC Nations Cup that ended last week. Specifically, libero Luu Thi Ly Ly (Information Corps) was replaced by Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh ( Vietinbank ). The remaining positions remained the same.

Among them, the two stars Thanh Thuy and Bich Tuyen have already secured their places as important pillars. At the same time, the organizing committee certainly does not want to see the absence of these two athletes because their names are too famous, with enough attraction to attract fans to watch.

After the AVC Nations Cup, the entire squad of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is healthy, fortunately no one is injured. Currently, the team is on a training trip in Quang Ninh to prepare for the VTV Cup 2025.

Also on the afternoon of June 18, Coach Nguyen Trong Linh announced the preliminary list of the Vietnam U21 team. Notably, the appearance of opposite Nguyen Thi Tra My (VTV Binh Dien Long An), who is actually no longer in the U21 age group.

Recently, this athlete was injured and was not called up to the national team. Therefore, she was probably called up to the U21 team by coach Nguyen Trong Linh to check her performance and regain her competitive spirit.

In addition, setter Vi Thi Yen Nhi (Hanoi Club) is another overage player called up to the Vietnam U21 team.

Meanwhile, the pair of setters Nguyen Van Ha and Le Le Bach Hop, who played very well for the youth team, were unexpectedly removed from the list. The remaining names are Pham Quynh Huong, Dang Thi Hong, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, Bui Thi Anh Thao and Le Thuy Linh.

From now until the tournament starts, U21 Vietnam will eliminate two more athletes to finalize the final list.
