Previously, Dong A published: New Literature 5 years of the first century (2001-2005) , New Literature 5 years 2006-2010 and New Literature 5 years 2011-2015 . This anthology is the publication marking the 25-year journey of the "brand" New Literature.
The collection includes 41 outstanding short stories by authors - including new and popular authors from all fields and circles. Readers will meet long-loved writers such as Ma Van Khang, Bao Ninh, Ho Anh Thai, Le Minh Khue, Nguyen Thi Thu Hue... and meet new faces such as Vo Dang Khoa, Hien Trang, Huynh Trong Khang...

The works cover a wide range of issues, from the lowlands to the highlands and islands, extending to lands beyond the borders. The anthology also aims to incorporate many different literary styles, from serious to humorous and tragicomic tones, traditional narratives are placed alongside explorations of art and content. The book also focuses on introducing literary artistic methods used by writers such as realism, magical realism, stream of consciousness, stream of emotions...
The works in the book were selected by writer Ho Anh Thai. As the content selector for Van Moi since Dong A was first established and the annual Tet Book, he is considered a “guide”, helping readers find unique writing styles and works containing contemporary cultural and literary values.
Writer Ho Anh Thai perseveres in his role as an anthologist: quietly reading, selecting, connecting and introducing. In the 25-year journey of Van Moi, he not only preserves the mark of each author, but also reflects the diverse face of Vietnamese literature. For readers, these anthologies help them find a common voice amidst the many complexities of everyday life.
In addition to the excellent content, the publication also has a carefully invested art. The collection has illustrations by artists Dang Xuan Hoa, Do Hoang Tuong, Hoang Phuong Vy, Ngo Xuan Khoi, Bui Tien Tuan, Kim Duan and Dang Hong Quan. These illustrations contribute to enriching the reading experience, opening up a visual space alongside the text. Thanks to that, the collection becomes more vivid and inspiring for readers.
The book cover has been consistent since the Van Moi edition in the first five years of the century , showing the multifaceted, multi-colored nature of a large collection. The front and back covers are multi-colored squares, looking like a chessboard but also multi-colored windows, from which one can see the faces of contemporary writers: 41 authors from the North - Central - South and also authors of Vietnamese origin living abroad.
