
At the event, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark in Tuyen Quang province was awarded the title of “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2025”, while Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park won the awards of “Vietnam’s Leading Natural Destination 2025” and “Asia’s Leading National Park”.
Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark has been consecutively honored by WTA with the titles of “Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination 2023” and “Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024”.

Speaking to a VNA reporter in Hong Kong, Mr. Nguyen Trung Ngoc - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province said that this award is a recognition of Tuyen Quang province's efforts to preserve the diverse and rich cultural values of the ethnic minorities in Tuyen Quang province, serving the development of sustainable, green, high-quality tourism, along with the conservation of nature and geology of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO global geopark, contributing to positively changing the lives of people in the northernmost border region.
Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as Vietnam's first Global Geopark in October 2010. The park covers an area of over 2,345 km². This is where geological formations dating back more than 500 million years with traces of tectonic movements of the Earth's crust have been preserved, creating a rare, vibrant geological museum in the world. Along with that, Dong Van Karst Plateau is also a living space for 17 ethnic groups with unique cultural identities that are well preserved and promoted.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is one of the largest and most unique conservation areas in Vietnam, with an area of about 201,000 hectares, home to hundreds of caves and an endemic ecosystem in the limestone mountains of the North Truong Son. Not only is it a place with diverse biological values and natural landscapes, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is also famous for its majestic and magnificent cave system, and is known as the "Kingdom of Caves" of the world.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park has been recognized as a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO twice. In 2003, UNESCO recognized Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park based on geological and geomorphological criteria. In 2015, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park was recognized as a World Natural Heritage for the second time based on biodiversity criteria.

Within the framework of the award ceremony, Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company was honored in 3 categories of the World Travel Awards including Asia's Leading Package Tour Operator, Vietnam's Leading Package Tour Operator and Vietnam's Leading Travel Company.
Besides Vietnam, Bali (Indonesia) was voted "Asia's Leading Wedding Destination", Australia won the title "Oceania's Leading Destination", Melbourne won the title "Oceania's Leading City Destination"...

The World Travel Awards is a prestigious award of the global tourism industry, held annually since 1993. The award aims to honor outstanding brands, organizations and businesses in the fields of travel, aviation, hotels and services as well as the most famous destinations in Asia and Oceania.
