Vietjet announces direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City

After Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane is the third city in beautiful Australia that Vietjet has direct flights to, this is also the first route connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with Brisbane city and Queensland state. Right on the occasion of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's official visit to Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia, Vietjet announced the opening of the Ho Chi Minh City - Brisbane route from June 16, 2023 with 2 round trips per week by modern large aircraft A330, contributing to promoting trade between Vietnam and Brisbane, Queensland state and Australia in general and further developing bilateral relations in the coming time.

Vietjet Board Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and Vietjet General Director Dinh Viet Phuong (red T-shirt, gray vest) received the Certificate of opening new flight routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Brisbane in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the ceremony: "We welcome new routes to Australia, especially as Vietjet's route is the first to connect Vietnam with the beautiful Australian city of Brisbane, where the 2032 Summer Olympics will take place."

It is expected that in the first year, the new route will bring more than 30,000 tourists from Australia to the "city named after Uncle Ho", contributing to expanding the large international flight network that Vietjet is operating to Ho Chi Minh City from Australia, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong (China)... Every year, Vietjet transports more than 15 million passengers through Ho Chi Minh City.

The new route will shorten travel time, making it convenient for people and tourists to fly between "The City named after Uncle Ho", the leading economic and cultural center of Vietnam, and Brisbane, the third largest city in Australia, which is known as the New York of the "kangaroo country". Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 10:50 (local time) and arrive in Brisbane at 21:55 (local time). Return flights depart from Brisbane Airport at 23:30 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 05:10 the following day (local time).

Recognizing the meaningful 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, after Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Vietjet plans to open more routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City and other major cities in Vietnam with Australia, expanding the connecting flight network from Australia to countries in the region and around the world.
