Vietjet: Women's empowerment is the foundation of sustainable development

(Chinhphu.vn) - Vietjet continues to affirm its commitment to sustainable development and promoting gender equality at the World Women in Aviation Summit 2025 (WAI-SG), with the participation of Singaporean Senior Minister Sun Xueling and more than 300 international aviation leaders and experts.

Representing Vietjet, Ms. Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Finance, shared about the journey of creating equal opportunities for women not only in the cockpit, but also in the fields of engineering, operations and finance.

“We don’t just talk about gender equality – we act on it. Vietjet believes that empowering women is the foundation of sustainable development,” she stressed.

Founded by Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Southeast Asia’s first self-made female billionaire, Vietjet is a symbol of the pioneering role of women in the aviation industry. According to the ESG 2024 Report, women account for nearly 40% of the workforce, of which 30% hold leadership positions – the highest ratio in the region.

With the theme "Pioneering for the Future of the Sky", WAI-SG 2025 celebrates initiatives that empower and connect the next generation of female leaders – who are helping to shape a humane, innovative and sustainable aviation industry for the Asia- Pacific .
