Due to the impact of storm Matmo, Vietnam Airlines plans to adjust flight schedules on October 5.

Specifically, flights VN1186 and VN1188 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong and VN1187 from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City have new departure times of 4:00 p.m., 5:35 p.m. and 6:35 p.m., respectively.

Flights VN592 and VN593 between Hanoi and Hong Kong (China) will take off at 12:15 and 16:15 (local time).

Flights of Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vasco) on October 6 are expected to operate normally.

Depending on the actual weather conditions, the airline will proactively operate flexible flight schedules and inform passengers to ensure absolute safety for passengers and flights.

Vietnam Airlines also recommends that passengers fasten their seat belts throughout the flight, especially in complex weather conditions. Actively fastening seat belts, even when the signal light is off, is an important measure to help minimize risks when the plane encounters air turbulence.

The airline also recommends that passengers planning to fly on October 6 proactively monitor traffic conditions in the area to the airport, especially in cities affected by the storm, to arrange reasonable travel time and be at the airport on time for check-in procedures.

According to information from the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Construction, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is deploying a dispatch on responding to storm Matmo, in which it is assessed that Cat Bi and Van Don airports will be directly affected by this storm.

In addition, Noi Bai, Vinh and Tho Xuan airports are required to be ready to respond when the storm has unusual developments.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 11, the Aviation Weather Warning Center will continuously update the situation and forecast wind speeds at the airport to promptly manage flight operations.

Airlines are required to proactively adjust flight schedules to ensure safe operations. The Northern Airports Authority has increased inspection and supervision of storm response at airports.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction sent a telegram to specialized departments, affiliated units and the Department of Construction from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong, requesting to concentrate forces to prepare to respond to storm Matmo.

The Civil Aviation Authority, airlines and aviation service businesses are assigned to closely monitor weather developments and be ready to change flight plans to ensure absolute safety.

At the same time, inspections of airport infrastructure, terminals, communication systems and flight command systems have also been strengthened to promptly handle any incidents that may arise during the storm.
