On the morning of October 7, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene (Quang Tri Department of Health ) announced that it had just received test results from the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, related to the case of 40 students of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School (Kim Ngan commune) suffering from food poisoning.
The results showed that the food samples tested positive for bacillus cereus bacteria. This is a common bacteria found in soil, dust, water and food, often causing poisoning if cooked food is left for a long time. People infected with bacillus cereus bacteria may experience vomiting, nausea and abdominal pain.
The students who were poisoned and hospitalized have now returned home.

Quang Tri Food Safety and Hygiene Department has notified the results to Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee as a basis for handling.
Previously, Mr. Ngo Duc Van, Director of Le Thuy General Hospital, confirmed that 40 students were hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. They were given IV fluids, antibiotics and discharged after treatment.
On the morning of September 26, a food poisoning incident occurred at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School after breakfast. The incident became more noisy when information emerged that Vice Principal Do Thi Hong Hue prevented the children from being taken to the hospital. A clip from the school's medical room spread on social media, making public opinion even more indignant.
After being treated and discharged from the hospital, 75 boarding students of the school simultaneously stopped going to school to protest against Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, in charge of the boarding meals.
On the morning of October 2, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune decided to temporarily suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue from work for 15 days.
