On the evening of October 6 at the Hoan Kiem Theater, the Hanoi Concert: Autumn Concert 2025 organized by Hanoi Radio and Television left many emotions in the hearts of the audience. The music night gathered many famous artists in the classical and chamber music fields, bringing a calm artistic space, full of autumn colors of Hanoi.

The opening of the program was Sending the Wind to the Flying Clouds - composed by composers Doan Chuan and Tu Linh - arranged by composer Tran Manh Hung for the symphony orchestra. Doan Chuan - "the musician of autumn" - although he did not compose much, left behind many immortal works. The soft melody of Sending the Wind to the Flying Clouds takes the audience right into the autumn atmosphere of Hanoi, even though the song does not mention this city at all.

The highlight of the program is the return of Afternoon Moon - a song that has been associated with diva My Linh since she was 19 years old. After more than three decades, the work once again resonates in a completely new space and is performed for the first time with a symphony orchestra by musician Dang Huu Phuc himself.

If 31 years ago, Afternoon Moon conquered the audience with its passionate, fresh and youthful melody, now, also through My Linh's voice - but mature and experienced - that work has taken on a new look: technically meticulous and emotionally profound.

My Linh not only recreated the song, but also brought a mature experience, filled with contemplation of time.

When the familiar melody rang out, many audiences fell silent, moved by My Linh's voice - both familiar and "reborn" in an emotional symphony space.

Before the concert, diva My Linh shared: “I sang Afternoon Moon when I was 19 years old and have not performed it again since then. And this time, performing with the symphony orchestra, I was a bit nervous, but after the last rehearsal, I felt very good, very emotional because the song itself is very good, the arrangement is very graceful.

Afternoon Moon is a very famous song from previous years and now it is being played again, I think it is very worthy. Should we keep forgetting the great works of older authors? That would really be a waste of the dedication of the musicians."

"Nightingale" Khanh Linh - a singer beloved by the public - returns to the Hanoi Concert stage with many new challenges. In particular, she brought an emotional moment when performing Golden Autumn - composed by her brother, the late musician Ngoc Chau - through a special arrangement for the symphony orchestra.

The song Golden Autumn was born during the period of Vietnamese light music innovation in the 1990s, with a youthful yet mellow melody, reminiscent of the romantic, pure features of Hanoi's autumn.

The work evokes memories of youth, first love and optimism, love of life - the typical musical style of Ngoc Chau, who has contributed to creating a new look for contemporary Vietnamese pop music.

Today, Golden Autumn was sung by Khanh Linh, as an emotional tribute from a younger sister to her talented older brother, making the audience linger in melodies filled with love and nostalgia.

An interesting highlight of the program is Words of the Wind - a familiar song by musician Duy Thai - which is transformed for the first time into a vibrant and passionate tango melody. The new arrangement by musician Tran Manh Hung brings a completely different nuance, both preserving the youthful, pure spirit of the original and breathing in new energy.

This variation also posed a challenge for Meritorious Artist Lan Anh and Le Anh Dung, as they had to harmonize the etherealness of light music with the strong rhythm of tango.

Under the guidance of conductor Honna Tetsuji and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Words of the Wind became an emotional performance - both familiar and strange, making the audience feel drawn into the dance of love and memories of Hanoi's youth.

The golden voice of chamber music Le Anh Dung then continued to conquer the audience with the profound, poignant autumn love song " Is it you, Hanoi's autumn?"

The 2025 Fall Concert also left its mark with the creative harmony and arrangement of musician Tran Manh Hung.

Familiar pop songs about autumn such as: Looking at the autumns gone , No more autumns ... are for the first time covered with a new layer of symphonic harmony, creating a musical space that is both luxurious and intimate. Through delicate processing, each song seems to be "revived" in a different appearance - still retaining the original emotions, but deeper, more profound and more artistic.

The international concert took the audience into a captivating classical space, with the violin of artist Thien Minh, the cello of artist Phan Do Phuc (left) and the immortal autumn masterpieces of Vivaldi, Grieg, Wagner, and Michel Legrand.

Under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and its artists created a solemn musical picture, where the quintessence of world symphonies harmoniously blended with the colors of Vietnamese music.
