The case of a teacher who was exonerated after 9 years: 8 former department leaders invited to listen to the conclusion announcement

Regarding the case of a teacher who was exonerated after 9 years of being evaluated and transferred to another job by the school and the department against regulations, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province has just invited related individuals to attend a meeting to announce the conclusion of the accusation, on the afternoon of July 25, at Bac Lieu Specialized High School.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province invited 8 former leaders of the Department of Education and Training of the former Bac Lieu province (now Ca Mau province, including 3 former Department Directors, 5 former Department Deputy Directors); and 3 former leaders of Bac Lieu Specialized High School (including the Principal and 2 Vice Principals) at the time of the violation.

Previously, as Tien Phong reported, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province had issued a document assigning the Director of the Department of Home Affairs and Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to continue implementing the conclusion on handling the content of the accusation against the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province (now Ca Mau province).

According to the conclusion of the complaint of the People's Committee of the former Bac Lieu province, in 2016, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyet, a teacher at Bac Lieu Specialized High School, was transferred to Bac Lieu High School by the Department of Education and Training. Because the school assessed Mr. Thuyet as having been classified as Average in professional skills for 2 consecutive years (according to high school teacher standards).

After Mr. Thuyet complained, the Provincial People's Committee investigated and concluded that the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province had transferred Mr. Thuyet to a different job in violation of regulations. "The principal (at the time of the complaint) showed signs of bullying teachers, abusing his position and authority to commit acts that violated regulations," the conclusion stated. Specifically, the school's professional team still rated Mr. Thuyet as Excellent, but the principal of the specialized school at that time arbitrarily downgraded him to Average.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also pointed out that in 2016, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province transferred 2 teachers to Bac Lieu Specialized High School without passing an exam, and another teacher who taught from 2003 to 2011 did not have a secondary, college, or university degree in pedagogy.

The Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province continue to be assigned to clarify the responsibilities, nature and level of violations of each collective and individual involved, and to take disciplinary action according to regulations against the leaders of the Department and the Principal of Bac Lieu Specialized High School at the time of the violation.
