Nong Cong Commune is ready to evacuate over 700 households in flood-prone areas.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 5 has winds as strong as, or even surpass, super storm Yagi in 2024 and storm Doksuri in 2017.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 5, Nong Cong commune has developed a plan to evacuate 721 households in flood-prone areas, with 2,769 people, in the villages of Cong Hoa, Lien Minh, Cao Nhuan, Lang Tru, Lang Mat, Tien Luoc, Thong Nhat, Sai Thon, Tien Chau, Vu Yen, Tap Cat 1, Tap Cat 2.

According to the plan, the locality will evacuate healthy people who know how to swim and arrange shelters in high-rise buildings in the village where rain and floods cannot cause flooding.

At the same time, evacuate households from their residential areas into the dike, residential areas, and arrange shelters in village cultural houses, schools, high-rise buildings, medical stations, etc.

Nong Cong Commune calls on people to be proactive and coordinate closely with authorities to evacuate when necessary, in order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
