Floods in Lang Son affect 3,000 households, causing 150 billion VND in damage

According to Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Duong Xuan Huyen, from the night of October 6 to October 7, there was very heavy rain in the area, with average rainfall of 200-280mm, and in some places over 300mm, causing widespread flooding in the communes of Yen Binh, Van Nham, Huu Lung, Tuan Son, Cai Kinh, That Khe, Trang Dinh, Quoc Viet...

By the morning of October 8, the entire province had more than 3,000 households affected, of which 4 houses collapsed, 63 houses had landslides, nearly 3,000 households were flooded from 30cm to 2m deep and isolated; 9 educational facilities were flooded and damaged. Heavy rain caused landslides and flooding at 153 traffic points, the volume of landslides was more than 20,000m³ of earth and rock, many bridges and roads were cut off; power outages and information outages in the communes of Van Nham, Yen Binh, Tuan Son, Quy Hoa, Thien Hoa...

In particular, on October 7, the Bac Khe 1 hydroelectric dam broke, affecting 3 villages: Bac Khe, Na Soong, Hop Luc, with 23 households (101 people) directly damaged. The province has organized the evacuation of all residents to a safe place... As of the morning of October 8, the total estimated damage caused by floods in Lang Son province is about 150 billion VND.

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee has directed the mobilization of more than 2,300 officers and soldiers of the army, police, militia, along with dozens of vehicles, boats, excavators, and life jackets to participate in rescue, evacuation, and overcoming the consequences. Lang Son Provincial leaders directly inspected the scene in Huu Lung, Trang Dinh, That Khe, Na Sam, Van Lang...; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep surveyed the area of ​​the Bac Khe 1 dam break, directed the work of overcoming and stabilizing people's lives...
