Some residential areas in riverside villages such as Ca, Ben, Phu Tho , Tan Do - Xom Chom, Dong... are still deeply flooded, many roads are cut off.
Faced with that situation, the People's Committee of Soc Son commune mobilized more than 500 people to participate in rescue and support the people. In addition, many enterprises and infrastructure maintenance units such as Hanoi Drainage Company, Soc Son Urban Environment Company, Soc Son Electricity Company... also cooperated to participate in drainage, fix problems, and ensure electrical safety.

At deeply flooded areas, authorities used homemade boats and rafts to evacuate people, with priority given to the elderly, children, and pregnant women. About 50 households in low-lying villages were evacuated to safety. Hundreds of life jackets, raincoats, boots, and flashlights were distributed to the task force and residents. The commune command also prepared adequate supplies and equipment such as sandbags, trucks, excavators, rescue rafts, etc. to respond quickly when situations arise.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son Commune, Bui Kim Thoa, was present at the scene to direct the rescue work. "We mobilized all local forces, closely coordinated with units stationed in the area, and made efforts to support people in evacuation, ensuring absolute safety for people. Along with that, the commune organized the distribution of food, drinking water, and essential necessities to households isolated by floods," said Ms. Thoa.

In addition to rescue work, the commune authorities also deployed remedial measures to ensure traffic and environmental sanitation. Locally flooded areas were quickly drained by the shock force and agricultural cooperatives. Commune officials regularly inspected and monitored the status of dikes, irrigation works, and drainage culverts to promptly detect and handle incidents.
Head of Soc Son Economic Department Trinh Van Duy said that the heavy rains in recent days have flooded and affected 94 hectares of agricultural production, including 47.4 hectares of rice and nearly 18 hectares of vegetables. Some livestock farms in low-lying areas were also flooded, forcing people to move their livestock and poultry to higher ground. Some road sections in the villages of Phu Ma and Dan Tao have appeared to be sunk and cracked due to long-term flooding.

By the afternoon of October 10, the evacuation of deeply flooded households in Soc Son commune was basically completed, and all affected households were provided with adequate food, clean water, and safe temporary shelter. Rescue forces continued to be on duty 24/7, closely monitoring the flood situation, and were ready to respond when situations arose. The People's Committee of Soc Son commune requested specialized departments and offices to continue to review damage, clean up the environment, disinfect flooded areas, and soon stabilize people's lives.

“Although the situation has stabilized, the risk of flooding remains due to the slow receding of the Ca Lo River. We continue to maintain 24/7 combat forces to ensure that no unfortunate incidents occur,” Mr. Trinh Van Duy affirmed.
Thanks to proactive, decisive actions and synchronous coordination between the government, functional forces and people, Soc Son commune has controlled the situation well, reduced damage, and ensured the safety of life and property for people in flood-affected areas.
