Van Ninh Commune works with fishing boat owners with potential IUU violations

On October 16, the People's Committee of Van Ninh commune coordinated with functional forces to work with fishing boat owners at risk of violating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Commune People's Committee disseminated a number of contents related to combating IUU fishing, focusing on measures to handle fishing vessels violating IUU. At the same time, they requested the functional forces to continue to review and check the number of fishing vessels in the commune; villages and residential groups to step up propaganda work, mobilizing fishing vessel owners to comply with the provisions of the law on combating IUU fishing. The functional forces guided fishing vessel owners to carry out procedures to fully meet the conditions for fishing according to regulations.

Working scene.

The working session aimed to propagate, mobilize and raise awareness for fishermen in the commune to comply with regulations on aquatic exploitation, joining hands with the whole country to remove the yellow card of the European Commission.
