From now until August 22, universities will simultaneously announce the 2025 benchmark scores.

In 2025, the number of candidates applying for admission to universities will increase sharply, with some places recording a threefold increase compared to last year. However, this year's benchmark scores will have unexpected changes that do not follow the pattern of previous years, according to an admissions expert at a university in Ho Chi Minh City. This comes from changes in the admission method, especially the correlation function used to convert admission scores equivalent to the admission methods and combinations of each school.

What to do after knowing the benchmark?

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, after knowing the admission scores, successful candidates need to confirm their admission online on the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 30. Many schools may have an additional admission step and receive students directly.

After the first round, universities will announce additional admissions if there are still quotas from September 1. The schools will consider the next rounds and update the list of admitted candidates according to regulations from September to December 2025.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year the country has 849,544 candidates registered for admission with more than 7.6 million wishes, reaching a rate of more than 73% of the candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. On average, each candidate registered nearly 9 wishes.
