On September 30, Dong Thap University held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Education and Training on recognizing Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong as Rector of Dong Thap University for the 2025-2030 term.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, announced the decision of the Minister of Education and Training on recognizing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong as Rector of Dong Thap University, term 2025-2030.

In his acceptance speech, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Van Thong said he was honored to be entrusted by the school and the Ministry of Education and Training to continue to hold the important position of Rector of Dong Thap University. He also said that in the period of 2025 - 2030, Dong Thap University identifies the human factor as the center of its development strategy, development for people, by people; aiming at the vision of becoming a high-quality training and scientific research center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia. In particular, the school will innovate its thinking, continue to open up and effectively apply university autonomy and advanced university governance.

The school will also exploit the advantages of the Mekong Delta region and Dong Thap province to deploy training, scientific research and community service more effectively, faster, and on a larger scale. Continue to exploit the great potential of educational science and teacher training to promote innovation in educational activities, focusing more on innovation and creativity in schools.

Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong (57 years old, hometown Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province - now Dong Thap). He has held many positions: Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thap Muoi District; Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap, Secretary of the Hong Ngu Town Party Committee (Dong Thap).

In August 2020, he was mobilized by the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and appointed to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Thap University. In November 2020, he was appointed to the position of Vice Principal of the school. In December 2021, he was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training to hold the position of Principal of Dong Thap University for the 2020-2025 term.

On this occasion, 7 individuals of Dong Thap University were honored to receive certificates of merit from the Prime Minister for their outstanding achievements in the period 2019 - 2024.

The President of Dong Thap University also awarded certificates of merit to many partners, units and individuals who have made many contributions to the school's enrollment, training and development activities.
