Attending the conference, on the Vietnamese side were comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, President of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association; comrade Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade ; comrade Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and representatives of a number of local ministries and branches.
On the Chinese side, there were Comrade Lam Vu, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress; Comrade Wang Qun, Acting Representative of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, and leaders of many cities and departments of Shandong province.
The conference was attended by more than 250 businesses from both countries, showing interest and expectations in bilateral cooperation.

At the Conference, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong said that the Vietnamese business community currently has nearly 1 million enterprises and more than 5 million business households, developing strongly in the fields of production, processing, agricultural products, textiles, electronics, logistics, and information technology.
Meanwhile, Shandong is a leading locality in manufacturing, energy, high technology and services. The two sides have clear complementary advantages, opening up opportunities for long-term cooperation, especially in the fields of supply chain, green transformation, innovation and sustainable development.
“The large participation of more than 250 associations and businesses of the two countries at this conference is not only an opportunity for exchange and meeting, but also lays an important foundation for establishing long-term strategic partnerships, contributing to improving the competitiveness and international integration of businesses of the two countries,” said comrade Pham Tan Cong.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, also said that the room for economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Shandong is still very large. Currently, trade between Vietnam and Shandong only accounts for 4.5% of the total Vietnam-China trade turnover, showing that the growth potential is still wide open, especially when the two sides have many complementary strengths.
“In the context of the unpredictable global economy, it is extremely necessary for Vietnam and China, especially the localities, to continue to strengthen close cooperation. Today's conference is an important opportunity for the business communities of the two countries to meet, exchange directly and expand substantive cooperation,” Comrade Nguyen Hoang Anh emphasized.

Comrade Lam Vu, Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, also said that Shandong is a locality with a comprehensive industrial system, with 41 major industries and is a gateway to a large market thanks to modern logistics infrastructure. Shandong considers Vietnam an important partner in the ASEAN region and continues to create a favorable environment for businesses of both sides to expand cooperation in the fields of supply chain, infrastructure development, green transformation and innovation.
“Shandong is ready to accompany Vietnamese localities to not only increase trade turnover but also contribute to building a long-term, stable and sustainable friendly cooperative relationship,” Comrade Lam Vu affirmed.

The Vietnam-China Trade, Investment and Business Connection Promotion Conference has opened a wide door for cooperation, creating new momentum for businesses on both sides.
With the determination of senior leaders, the support of functional agencies and the proactive spirit of cooperation of enterprises, the economic and trade relations between Vietnam and China in general, and between Vietnam and Shandong province in particular, will certainly continue to develop strongly, stably and sustainably.
Within the framework of the conference, the two sides witnessed the signing ceremony of 13 cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Shandong enterprises in the fields of mechanics, construction, information technology, food, agricultural products, energy, new materials, etc.
This is a testament to the joint efforts to concretize the policies and orientations of the senior leaders of the two Parties and two States in promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China to become increasingly in-depth, practical and effective.
Shandong is a coastal province with a leading economic role in northern China. With an area of over 158,000 km² and a population of over 100 million (in 2024), Shandong is considered a key industrial and commercial center of China with 41 major industries. The province's GDP in 2024 will reach over 9,856 billion yuan (equivalent to 1,372 billion USD), ranking third in the country, up 5.7% compared to 2023.
In the field of trade with Vietnam, Shandong achieved an import-export turnover of more than 11.6 billion USD in 2024, accounting for 2.45% of the province's total import-export turnover. Notably, by the end of April 2025, the total import-export turnover between Vietnam and Shandong reached 4.28 billion USD, an increase of 12.5% over the same period last year. Vietnam currently ranks 8th among Shandong's trade partners and 2nd in ASEAN.
