5,000 free tuna servings to treat tourists

(Dan Tri) - 5,000 free "giant" tuna portions at the culinary festival "Delicious dishes from Basalt and Sea" in Gia Lai province.

On the afternoon of August 29, at Children's Park, on An Duong Vuong Street, Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province, the opening ceremony of the culinary festival "Delicious dishes from Basalt and Sea" took place. The festival lasted until September 1 with many exciting activities.

At the festival, people and tourists witnessed domestic and international chefs performing tuna filleting and processing it into creative, nutritious and delicious dishes.

The culinary festival "Delicious dishes from the Basalt Land and the Sea" takes place from August 29 to September 1 at Children's Park, Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province (Photo: Cong Son).

Dishes are made from the main ingredient of ocean tuna combined with food and ingredients from the basalt plateau such as grilled tuna with European taste; tomato sauce served with super large bread (6m long); fish porridge with macadamia nuts from the basalt plateau; spicy curry typical of Thai dishes, tuna pancakes...

In particular, at the festival, 5,000 meals made from tuna are served free of charge to locals and tourists.

Participating in the festival as the Media Ambassador of the festival "The quintessence of the great forest converging on the sea" Quy Nhon - Gia Lai 2025, Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa was attracted by the performance of ocean tuna filleting by domestic chefs in combination with Japanese chefs.

“I was honored to witness the chefs performing fresh tuna filleting and enjoy delicious tuna sashimi with wasabi. Along with that, I also enjoyed many delicious dishes of the basalt land of the Central Highlands,” Miss Dinh Thi Hoa shared.

According to the Organizing Committee, the culinary festival "Delicious dishes from the Bazan land and the Sea" also displays OCOP products (one product per commune), craft villages and the coffee and gong culture festival of Gia Lai province. The scale of nearly 94 booths and 33 units, gathering the participation of restaurants inside and outside the province, brings many experiences to visitors.

In addition, Gia Lai province also organizes other activities such as street festivals, traditional art forms of the province including hat boi, bai choi, traditional martial arts performances, gong performances and traditional musical instruments.

Aspiration for Blue Sea - Shining Forest

On the same evening, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the 2025 Festival of the Great Forest - Blue Sea Convergence with the theme "Aspiration for the Blue Sea - Shining Great Forest" was held by the People's Committee of Gia Lai province on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to celebrate the province 's merger from Binh Dinh province (old) and Gia Lai province (old) on July 1.

The opening art program was staged to combine the characteristics of the East and West regions of Gia Lai province: historical traditions, cultural identity, potential strengths for economic development, historical relics, tourist landscapes, products of the basalt land and sea with the message "Promoting the strength of solidarity - maintaining identity - moving towards the future".

In addition, Gia Lai province also organizes other activities such as street festivals, traditional art forms of the province including hat boi, bai choi, traditional martial arts performances, gong performances and traditional musical instruments.

In particular, the light festival and drone art performance with a music party for young people with the theme "Great Forest - Blue Sea Reaching Out to Shine", will take place at 8:30 p.m. on September 1 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon Ward.
