As soon as there was information that tourists were stranded due to landslides after heavy rains caused by storm No. 10, many hotels and homestays in tourist destinations in the Northwest such as Sa Pa and Ta Xua posted information to support accommodation for tourists.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Ward People's Committee ( Lao Cai ), said that the number of visitors to Sa Pa on September 29 and 30 was still quite large. Tourists traveled according to pre-planned schedules.
When the landslide occurred, tourists could not leave Sa Pa at the end of their trip. The local government had a document agreeing with restaurants and hotels to create the best conditions for tourists to use accommodation and dining services in the ward.
Many restaurants and hotels have promotions and free rides for tourists who are stuck in traffic and cannot travel on the Sa Pa to Lao Cai or Sa Pa to Lai Chau routes.

Not the first time supporting tourists during storms, Ms. Pham Thi Kim Anh, owner of Kim Anh Hotel (Sa Pa Ward, Lao Cai), during the impact of storm Yagi in 2024, her hotel supported tourists and charity groups to help people in Sa Pa.
"Tourists come to the place where I live for sightseeing and travel, and their schedule has ended but they can't go home. Surely everyone is sad and worried. As a son of Sa Pa, I want to support everyone in difficult times like this.
"It's not fun to encounter storms while traveling. I hope that even though this little help is small, it will help everyone have good memories when coming to Sa Pa. If they have the chance, they will continue to travel to Sa Pa," Kim Anh shared.
On September 30, in Sa Pa, there was only light rain, landslides on the road to Cat Cat and Highway 4D on O Quy Ho Pass were fixed. People and tourists can travel normally.
Local authorities have placed signs prohibiting vehicles with more than 16 seats from traveling to Cat Cat village at the present time. By 4 p.m. on September 30, tourists were able to safely travel from Sa Pa to Lao Cai through the landslide at Mong Sen bridge area.
Meanwhile, in Ta Xua (Son La), heavy rain on September 29 also made many tourists worried. In order to help tourists feel more secure when staying in Ta Xua during the heavy rain, Mr. Phan Thanh Hung, owner of May Home Ta Xua homestay, informed on his fanpage about free support for all tourists.
When the information was posted, many tourists contacted Mr. Hung, however most of them wanted to leave early so Mr. Hung helped connect vehicles for tourists.
Previously, Mr. Hung had run a homestay on Co To Island and supported tourists during the storm season, so when he came to Ta Xua, he also wanted to spread such beautiful images to tourists.
"I want to support customers on-site as best as possible, safety is important when it rains or winds. Guests can rest assured to stay without any extra charges.
Currently, my family has 12 bungalows and two communal stilt houses, so for about 50-100 guests, my family can take care of their food and accommodation when they come to Ta Xua to play and unfortunately get stuck due to heavy rain," Mr. Hung shared.
