Right in January, the working atmosphere at the 110 kV power grid construction sites in localities managed by EVNSPC was highly concentrated with the spirit of working through holidays.
From February 23 to February 27, 2025 (ie from January 20 to 27, At Ty year), a series of projects were energized in the provinces of Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Binh Duong . These are the most practical achievements to celebrate 50 years of construction and development of Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC).
Dong Thap is one of the localities with strong growth rate in recent years. Implementing the policy of "Electricity goes one step ahead", EVNSPC has allocated resources, invested, upgraded the power grid, promptly met the demand for load development in the area. Of which, from February 23-27, EVNSPC energized 3 110 kV power grid projects.
Tan Hong 110 kV transformer station, Dong Thap energized on the evening of February 27 |
Specifically, on the evening of February 27, EVNSPC coordinated with the contractor and related units to test-energize the Tan Hong 110 kV Station, part of the Tan Hong 110 kV Station Project and the connecting line. The energization of this item is an important premise for coordination and handling of problems in compensation and site clearance for the 6.4km connecting line.
The Tan Hong 110 kV Station and the connecting line are of special importance, supplying electricity to large-load industrial clusters and supplying electricity to neighboring Cambodia. At the same time, it improves the reliability of power supply and safety in operation; transferring between the Hong Ngu, Tam Nong and Tan Hong 110 kV stations to ensure power supply according to N-1 criteria; contributing to the locality in economic development, improving the lives of rural people, and ensuring social security.
On February 25, EVNSPC also completed the project "Upgrading and renovating the 110 kV Tam Nong transformer station (T2-63MVA)", putting the T2 transformer of the 110 kV Tam Nong transformer station into operation. The 110 kV Tam Nong transformer station was built and put into operation in 2017, with the installed capacity of the T1 transformer with a capacity of 40 MVA.
After more than 8 years of operation, with the rapid development of industrial clusters and increasing demand for electricity, the existing capacity has become overloaded. To ensure a stable power source, EVNSPC decided to invest in an additional T2 transformer with a capacity of 63 MVA. The energization and operation of the T2 transformer at Tam Nong transformer station not only solves the overload situation but also creates favorable conditions for the development of local production and business; ensuring a stable power supply for industrial clusters, production facilities and the daily needs of people in Tam Nong district.
The project also contributes to improving power transmission capacity, reducing power loss on the grid; supporting power transmission to neighboring districts such as Cao Lanh, Thap Muoi, Tan Hong; ensuring stable power supply for Tam Nong district and neighboring areas.
Previously, the project "Route 171 at Tam Nong 110 kV Station" under the Tam Nong - An Long 110 kV Transmission Line project was also successfully energized and put into operation on February 23. The project contributes to improving the reliability of power supply to the 110 kV stations of Thap Muoi, Tam Nong, An Long, Hong Ngu, Truong Xuan and other 110 kV stations in the region; meeting the demand for regional load development in the period 2016 - 2030 and after 2030, creating a premise for the gradual development of smart distribution grids.
Meanwhile, in Tien Giang, after 45 days of "lightning-fast" construction, the project to increase the capacity of "Replacing the T2-40MVA transformer with a 63 MVA transformer at the 110 kV Go Cong substation" in Go Cong city was energized and officially put into operation on February 24, 2025. The project contributes to solving the urgent need for electricity in the locality; especially ensuring electricity supply for drought and salinity relief work, pumping fresh water for daily use for people during the hot and dry season.
In recent days, EVNSPC has accepted and energized 06 projects in Ben Tre and Binh Duong provinces.
Phu Thuan 110 kV transformer station has been energized and put into operation. |
Specifically, in Ben Tre province, EVNSPC energized and technically accepted 2 projects: "110 kV Phu Thuan transformer station", Binh Dai district and 110 kV An Hiep transformer station, part of the project "110 kV An Hiep transformer station and 110 kV line from 220 kV Ben Tre - 110 kV An Hiep", Chau Thanh district.
In Binh Duong province, EVNSPC energized and technically accepted 4 projects including: An Lap 110 kV transformer station and connecting line, Thanh An 110 kV transformer station, Cong Xanh 110 kV transformer station and connecting line, Vsip2-MR2 110 kV transformer station (Vinh Loi substation).
Regarding the projects that have been energized and accepted, the investor said that these projects have completed the technical items inside the transformer station but have not yet been put into operation. Currently, the units are urgently and actively coordinating with the construction contractor and other units to speed up the progress of the connection items, soon put the project into operation, promptly meet the demand for load growth, and improve the reliability of power supply in the area.
EVNSPC is currently implementing a 90-day sprint emulation movement to complete the energization of 50 110 kV power grid projects before April 30, 2025. To achieve this goal, EVNSPC must face many challenges in carrying out legal procedures to implement investment and construction projects, site clearance, and special construction terrain of canals, rivers, etc., causing difficulties in transporting materials and equipment.
However, the greater the difficulty, the greater the determination, so right after the Tet holiday, EVNSPC leaders and the construction investment force in the whole Corporation continued to work with the spirit of "no days off".
In particular, the leadership team is regularly present at the construction site to inspect and supervise progress, and has specific instructions to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for each project and power works in the localities.
It is known that from the beginning of 2025 until now, EVNSPC has basically energized 17 projects. These are the tireless efforts of EVNSPC, construction contractors, consulting, supervising and testing units; especially the support and facilitation of local authorities, the close coordination of the Southern Power System Control Center...
