On the afternoon of January 24 (December 25), the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation sent 127 workers' families (499 people) home to celebrate Tet on the spring train at Saigon station.

The spring train trip, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, brought about 500 worker households from Ho Chi Minh City with about 1,600 people back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet At Ty 2025.

7 years without returning home for Tet

Ms. Hoang Thi Lai, a worker at Freetrend A Shoe Company (Linh Trung II Export Processing Zone, Thu Duc City) was moved to be on the spring train.

She said that both her husband and she are workers, and as soon as they sweat, they run out of money. Although she really wants to, it has been more than 7 years since Ms. Lai has been able to return to Quang Binh to celebrate Tet with her family.

The nervous wait for the train to arrive, and the longing to return home after many years of not returning, made her barely sleep the night before.

"This year, the union gave us free tickets for our whole family to reunite for Tet, which is a huge happiness for us," said Ms. Lai, tears rolling down her face.

The luggage of Ms. Lai's family returning to her hometown to celebrate Tet this year is also quite special with a wall calendar and Tet gifts given by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.

The best thing is that the children can go home to celebrate Tet with their parents and receive lucky money early.

500 workers' families returned home on the spring train

Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Pham Chi Tam shared that returning home to celebrate Tet with family is always the wish of those who work far away from home.

In Ho Chi Minh City, there are still many workers and laborers who, due to difficult circumstances and conditions, cannot return home to reunite with their loved ones at the end of the year even if they want to.

Understanding the difficulties of workers far from home, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation organizes "Spring Train".

The train will take 500 families of workers (including husband, wife and children) working in export processing zones and industrial parks from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central and Northern provinces.

"The train is not only a means of transportation but also a journey filled with the care, sharing and affection of the trade union organization for those who are far from home. I hope everyone will soon return to reunite with their loved ones and welcome good luck before the New Year," said Mr. Tam.

On the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025, trade unions at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City donated 45,000 train, bus and plane tickets worth about 26 billion VND to bring workers and many workers' families back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet.

Going to the market for the first time without looking at the price, paying without cash, this story that sounds like a joke has just been experienced by many workers and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City when coming to the Workers' Festival - a charity market on the occasion of Tet this year.
