'80% of fans want VFF to fire coach Troussier' true or false?

VTC NewsVTC News22/03/2024

Do you want VFF to fire coach Philippe Troussier?

On January 4, 2024, coach Philippe Troussier shocked everyone with his statement "80% of people do not believe the Vietnamese team will succeed and do not support the national team".

On March 20, the French coach repeated this number at a higher level: "I think in Vietnam there are many fans, probably around 80% waiting for the results and wondering when the VFF will fire me."

It is unclear how coach Troussier calculated this ratio, but the wave of protests against the French coach certainly grew a lot after the loss to Indonesia last night (March 21).

Coach Philippe Troussier continues to disappoint.

Coach Philippe Troussier continues to disappoint.

Mr. Troussier’s first match after signing a contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) took place exactly one year ago. At that time, the 69-year-old coach led the U23 Vietnam team to participate in a friendly tournament in Qatar.

Exactly one year later, the mark that the French coach created did not have many positive points. He did not achieve the goals at SEA Games 32 (U23 Vietnam) and Asian Cup 2023 (national team).

Criticism of the French coach has increased over time. Since October 2023, the Vietnamese team has gone through a series of 10 consecutive matches with only 1 win and the rest are 9 defeats.

In less than 3 months, the Vietnamese team lost 2 consecutive matches to Indonesia - the 142nd ranked team in the world . Not only were fans disappointed with the score, but they were also dissatisfied with the way the Vietnamese team played over the past long period of time.

So, what percentage of fans do not support and are waiting for coach Philippe Troussier to resign/be fired now? Is the estimated figure of 80% given by the French coach himself still accurate?
