As of November 9, in Ly Nhan district, 87/140 villages and residential groups have completed the election of Village Chief and Residential Group Chief for the 2023-2026 term (referred to as the election).

According to the People's Committee of Ly Nhan district, the number of villages/residential groups that have completed the election of village/residential group heads belongs to 14 communes and towns, of which 9 communes and Vinh Tru town have completed 100% of villages/residential groups. According to the plan, the election of village/residential group heads in Ly Nhan will be held from October 29 to the end of November 2023.

Each village/residential group will elect a Village Chief/Residential Group Leader. For type 1 villages and residential groups with a large number of households and a large, fragmented area, an additional Deputy Village Chief or Deputy Head of the Residential Group can be arranged. For villages and residential groups that need to arrange an additional Deputy Village Chief or Deputy Head of the Residential Group, the People's Committee of the commune or town shall report to the Party Committee of the commune or town to consider each specific case for decision.

The criteria for candidates elected to the positions of Village Chief and Head of Residential Group for this term, in addition to the regulations on age, political qualities, ethics, personal and family, experience and capacity to organize and mobilize people, and be trusted by the people..., also require a higher level of education, and must have a High School Diploma. In truly special cases (there is no source of candidates meeting the above criteria), with only a Junior High School Diploma, the People's Committee of the commune or town will have to report to the Party Committee of the commune or town to consider each specific case to decide.

Thus, the election is under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the People's Committee, the Steering Committee for implementing the democratic regulations of communes and towns and is carried out in all villages and residential groups in the whole district.
