900 people in Lao Chai commune were screened and had their blood tested for syphilis.

Pursuant to Report No. 232/BC-TTYT dated December 12, 2024 of Mu Cang Chai Regional Medical Center on the situation of syphilis in the area, from September 22 to 26, 2025, Lao Cai Provincial Center for Disease Control coordinated with Mu Cang Chai Regional Medical Center to organize a screening examination and take samples for syphilis diagnosis for 900 people aged 16 to 49 in Lao Chai commune.

During the process of taking samples for testing, medical staff provided direct consultation on the characteristics of syphilis, transmission routes, prevention and treatment measures. Helping people improve their understanding and proactively protect their own health and that of their families.

Through screening results, cases with positive results will be listed and handed over to Mu Cang Chai Regional Medical Center to develop early treatment plans for infected cases, thereby contributing to limiting the spread in the community.

The screening and testing activities for syphilis in Lao Chai commune are one of the practical measures to achieve the goal of strengthening syphilis prevention and control in the area, while demonstrating the health sector's concern in protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the mountainous and especially disadvantaged commune.
