AFC sends congratulatory letter to U17 Vietnam for qualifying for the 2026 AFC U17 Championship

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has just sent a letter of congratulations to the Vietnam U17 women's team after successfully winning the right to enter the Final Round (Finals) of the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Football Championship.

Under the leadership of coach Okiyama Masahiko, the Vietnam U17 women's team won both matches of Group D, defeating Guam U17 women's team 7-1 and Hong Kong U17 women's team (China) 1-0, thereby earning the right to participate in the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship finals to be held in China.

In the letter, AFC wrote: “Congratulations to the Vietnam U17 Women's National Team for their excellent performance in winning Group D in the qualifying round and officially qualifying for the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship Finals in China. The team's determination and dedication were clearly demonstrated in the qualifying matches.”

In addition, AFC would like to express its sincere thanks to VFF and the local organizing committee for successfully organizing the Group D Qualifiers, which took place from October 13 to October 17, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.

AFC expressed: “The dedication, constant efforts and professional working spirit of VFF and LOC in ensuring the organization and operation of the tournament are very commendable and appreciated.
