VFF President awarded commemorative medals to individuals with many valuable contributions

Several individuals with outstanding contributions to Vietnamese football received Commemorative Medals from VFF leaders.

On October 9, at Binh Duong Stadium (HCMC), in the exciting atmosphere of the match between the Vietnamese team and Nepal (in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded the "For the cause of Vietnamese football" Medal to individuals: Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of Becamex Group, Mr. Vu Duc Thanh - former Chairman of Binh Duong Football Federation and Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City.

Since 2007, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province (now the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City) has coordinated with the Binh Duong Provincial Football Federation (now the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation) to organize the Binh Duong Provincial Football Championship with the participation of nearly 200 amateur football teams in the area. Over the years, the tournament has not only been maintained annually but also become a traditional playground, contributing to the development of the sports movement, improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

In recognition of the practical and effective contributions of individuals in the development of grassroots and professional football in the locality, on June 28, 2025, the VFF Executive Committee issued Decision No. 577/QD-LĐBĐVN on awarding the "For the cause of Vietnamese football" commemorative medal to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Mr. Vu Duc Thanh and Mr. Cao Van Chong.

Attending the "For the cause of Vietnamese football" medal awarding ceremony, on behalf of VFF leaders, there were: Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan; Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of VFF; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu, Vice President of VFF; Mr. Ho Hong Thach, Member of VFF Executive Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of VFF.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan (middle) hopes that in the coming time, individuals and organizations will continue to accompany Vietnamese football.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of VFF, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his appreciation for the positive and effective contributions of the honored individuals, and emphasized that the companionship and dedication of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vu Duc Thanh, and Cao Van Chong not only played an important role in the development of Binh Duong football in the previous period, but also contributed to the overall development of the country's football.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also expressed his hope that in the coming time, individuals and organizations will continue to accompany and support more strongly the activities of national football, especially in the development of grassroots football, youth training and together build a solid foundation for national football.
