VDB promotes emulation movement, creating motivation to complete tasks

During nearly 20 years of construction and development, Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) has always considered emulation and reward work as a driving force to promote the completion of political tasks, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

Capital to promote national economic and infrastructure development

From 2006 to present, VDB has provided more than 200,000 billion VND of State investment credit capital for the economy, financing nearly 200 key national projects such as Son La Hydropower Plant, Dung Quat Oil Refinery, Vinasat 1-2 Satellite, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant, Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Plant, 500kV power transmission projects...

After the Government issued Decree 78/2023/ND-CP, VDB signed a commitment to cooperate and provide capital with many large corporations such as EVN, PV Power, VEC, BIM Group, DNP Water, Tasco, Hon La Port... with a total loan demand of more than 60,000 billion VND.

In just over a year, VDB has appraised 70 projects with a total proposed funding capital of nearly 40,000 billion VND, signed credit contracts for nearly 40 projects, and disbursed more than 5,000 billion VND, contributing to stimulating investment and economic growth.

Patriotic emulation - the driving force for developing internal strength of the banking industry

Responding to emulation movements launched by the Government, the Prime Minister and the Banking sector, VDB always associates emulation movements with key tasks such as: infrastructure development, new rural construction, environmental protection, digital transformation, administrative reform, and labor productivity improvement.

Typical movements include:

“Promoting infrastructure development” - VDB finances many key national projects such as Hanoi - Hai Phong, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressways, electricity projects, clean water supply projects... contributing to creating a foundation for socio-economic development.

“The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind” - VDB donated more than 9 billion VND to support poor households, build charity houses, prevent natural disasters and epidemics; at the same time, spent more than 15 billion VND on social security activities in the period of 2020-2025, taking care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, supporting poor communes, orphanages, and meritorious people.

"The whole country competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning" - VDB focuses on improving the quality of human resources, organizing training for more than 13,000 officials and employees in the 2020-2025 period in direct and online forms, fostering management skills, professional skills, political theory, and banking technology.

In addition, VDB also launched movements:

Compete to excellently complete the tasks for the 2020-2025 period, with the motto "Solidarity - Discipline - Responsibility - Creativity - Efficiency".

Competition to promote growth of State investment credit (2024-2025).

Compete to achieve results to celebrate major holidays and important political events of the country.

The movements are organized systematically, from launching, registering, monitoring, summarizing to rewarding and replicating advanced models. VDB focuses on building a healthy, transparent and fair competitive environment, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity and creating strong motivation throughout the system.

Recognizing advanced examples in the emulation movement

In the period of 2020-2025, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were recognized, typically the VDB Lao Cai Branch was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister in the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind". Many other collectives and individuals were awarded by the Emulation Bloc of the General Ministries, Provincial People's Committees, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

On August 27, 2025, the Vietnam Development Bank was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement in 2024.

Internally, VDB has given large-scale rewards: Awarding Emulation Flags to 2 units, Certificates of Merit to 22 groups, 30 departments and 27 individuals; Recognizing excellent labor groups to 23 units, advanced labor to 90 units; Awarding "For the cause of NHPT" Medals to 167 individuals; Recognizing 13 typical "good people, good deeds".

Summarizing the period, VDB recognized 17 typical advanced collectives and nearly 150 individuals, of which 7 units and 15 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit for outstanding achievements in the emulation movements 2020-2025.

Affirming the role of emulation in sustainable development

The 4th Vietnam Development Bank Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025 is an important milestone affirming the great role of the emulation movement and reward work in creating motivation for innovation, creativity, and improving the efficiency of the entire system.

Promoting the tradition of patriotic emulation, VDB's staff and employees continue to innovate and modernize operations, improve the efficiency of policy credit, and strive to complete the restructuring and sustainable development goals in the coming period.
