Away from the pressure at Old Trafford, Hojlund has the chance to rebuild his confidence at Napoli. |
In the early morning of October 2, Hojlund scored a double in Napoli's dramatic 2-1 victory over Sporting CP in the Champions League. This was Hojlund's third goal in just five appearances for the Serie A club since the start of the season.
The Danish striker's performance helped Napoli to their first European win of the season. Former Napoli midfielder Ivano Trotta praised Hojlund as "an extraordinary player" and said his former club had made a good deal: "Hojlund is an extraordinary player. He impressed with his great qualities. 40-50 million euros is a fair price for a young talent with great potential."
Trotta was particularly complimentary of Hojlund’s handling of the scoring situation: “The goals Hojlund scores are not simple. He uses his body perfectly to keep his position and calmly finishes. The most impressive thing is his ability to help the team move forward. When Napoli play fast, vertical passes, Rasmus covers the ball well, making it impossible for the defender to get past him. He is a strong player with great potential.”
Antonio Cassano, former Italy international, feels confused when MU and coach Amorim decide to push Hojlund to leave this summer: "It's hard to understand why they (MU and coach Amorim - PV) see Hojlund as an expired commodity. He's only 22 years old, had a difficult season before because the whole team played poorly. But they pushed him away from Old Trafford at all costs. Amorim should regret that."
