Impressive Night "Southern Cultural Heritage - Continuing Journey" at the 2nd Ninh Binh

“The Southern Land” with more than 300 years of formation and development, has gathered many distinctive cultures and has many unique cultural heritages. In particular, the art of Southern amateur music is a traditional folk art form typical of the Southern region and has been recognized by the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Don ca tai tu has been closely associated with the lives of the people of the South, since the early days of opening the land, it is the breath, the voice, the strong vitality of the people who value righteousness over money, full of humanity of the river region rich in fruits and intelligence and bravery of the South.

The art of Southern amateur music is defined as a type of music that is both popular and scholarly, born in the South in the late 19th century, created on the basis of Southern ritual music, Hue royal court music, and Central and Southern folk music. The folk nature is that anyone can participate, regardless of class or circumstance; the scholarly nature is that if you want to sing well and play well, you must have talent and a "profession". For the provinces and cities of the South, the art of amateur music has become an indispensable "spiritual food", meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the people. Wherever you go, whether in urban areas or in the garden areas or the river regions of the South, you can listen to the songs of the Southern and Northern folk music, and the vọng cổ of the art of amateur music.

Using folk music materials, Don ca tai tu through the singing and recitation of folk artists, Southern Cai Luong artists and performance forms such as dance, circus magic used to support the performance space... recreated the unique cultural features of the Southern region: Floating markets, ferries, merchant lives, the most unique traditional occupations serving the daily life of Southern people such as boat building, pot making, mat weaving, mattress making, and so on... Thereby expressing the generous, open-minded, sincere, heroic, and righteous character of the Southern people ...

Live stage space in the Program

The group of artists and artisans from the Southern region traveled thousands of kilometers to be present at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and bring us a special performance; with music and songs imbued with the humanity of the "Southern Region".

The art performances at the program through the voices of the outstanding children of the "Southern Land": People's Artist Phuong Loan, People's Artist Tan Giao, People's Artist Thanh Tuan, Meritorious Artist Nhu Huynh, Meritorious Artist Cam Tien, Meritorious Artist Le Tu, Meritorious Artist Vo Thanh Phe, singer Phuong Dung, singer Huynh That, artist Ha Nhu, artist Huynh Tan Phong, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dang, folk artist Thao Vy... helped the audience understand and love the Southern land more .

The program "Southern Heritage Night" is one of a series of events honoring the cultural and artistic heritage of the 2nd Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival in 2023. Through organizing activities within the framework of the Festival, it contributes to connecting, converging and spreading the values of traditional cultural heritage of the nation ; promoting domestic and international cultural exchange activities, creating solidarity and cohesion between countries and ethnic groups, contributing to promoting peace and development cooperation.
