Da Mai sluice was opened at 7:00 p.m. on October 11, the water level in the fields in Lai Nghien canal has dropped by 12cm. At Duc Mai sluice, the water level in the fields has dropped by about 1m (the residential area is still flooded by about 1.5m), the difference in water column on the field side and the river side is about 70cm so the water flow is fast.
Currently, in flooded villages and residential areas (Tien Luc, My Thai, Da Mai, Tan Dinh, Bac Lung, Lang Giang, Viet Yen, Van Ha, Hop Thinh, Dong Ky, Yen The, Bo Ha communes), water is still receding, and the inter-village and commune road system in some communes of Dong Ky, Yen The, Bo Ha, and Hop Thinh is open. Some households in high areas have returned to clean up.
The flooding situation in Lai Nghien canal, Da Mai ward has decreased by about 30 cm compared to 5:00 p.m. on October 11. The North-South railway area and some national and provincial highways have decreased and not overflowed onto the road.
At Duc Mai sluice (My Thai commune area), the water level in the field has dropped to about 1 meter, the difference in water column between the field and the river is about 70 cm so the water flow is fast. However, the area in the field is still flooded about 1.5-1.8 meters deep.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Ninh province requested the People's Committees of flooded communes to focus on directing the urgent repair of damages caused by rain and floods, quickly ensuring the stabilization of the lives of households whose houses were damaged and who returned to their homes after evacuation; urgently repairing damaged schools to ensure that students' learning is not interrupted.
According to Mr. Dang Cong Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Ninh province, the water level on the river banks continues to decrease, but the risk of landslides is very high. The People's Committees of communes and wards on the Cau and Thuong rivers closely coordinate with the dike management force to strengthen the organization of patrols and protection of the dikes to promptly handle dike incidents such as: extrusion, landslides, and culverts under the dikes. At the same time, prepare enough human resources and means to handle according to the "4 on-site" motto; continue to review and count the damage; develop a plan to repair damaged works and infrastructure affected by floods.
