Positive energy and creative spirit from an outstanding female union member

With many technical initiatives that have brought tens of billions of dong in profits to the enterprise, along with a spirit of sharing, responsibility and compassion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung has contributed to portraying the image of a modern, dynamic, creative and courageous Vietnamese woman in labor and production.

Leading the innovation movement

Ms. Dung was born in 1979 in Uy No commune ( Hanoi ). Right after graduating from high school, she started working at Canon Vietnam Limited Liability Company. With persistent efforts and a progressive spirit, she gradually matured and currently holds the position of Deputy Head of Assembly Department No. 2 - a position that requires high expertise and solid management skills.

In her daily work, Ms. Dung is always an exemplary, dedicated and meticulous manager. From production control, vocational training, electrical safety inspection, task assignment to handling problems arising on the production line, etc., every stage is meticulously monitored by her, ensuring the highest level of progress and product quality.

Not only does she fulfill her managerial role well, Ms. Dung is also a "fire-starter" in the creative labor emulation movement at the enterprise. With an innovative mindset, a sense of responsibility and a passion for dedication, she has come up with many technical improvement solutions that have brought about outstanding results.

A typical example is the initiative to improve labor efficiency, helping the company save more than 1.3 million USD (equivalent to 30.9 billion VND). Another initiative of hers on improving smart delivery methods brings efficiency of 2.6 billion VND per year. In addition, the solution to improve training areas contributes to improving workers' skills, while saving training costs of about 1.1 billion VND per year. Her initiatives not only bring economic benefits but also create positive changes in the working environment from improving productivity, reducing errors, to building a safe, scientific and professional working culture.

Those outstanding contributions helped Ms. Dung win the 2022 Canon Global Innovation Gold Award - an award for breakthrough solutions. That same year, she was honored to receive the "Innovation and Creativity" Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union. In 2023, she continued to be honored as "Outstanding Capital Woman" and "Innovative Capital Worker and Civil Servants".

Notably, in 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung was honored in the top 10 outstanding female union members nationwide, receiving the "Dynamic, Creative, Responsible Female Union Member" Award - an award given every 5 years by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , recognizing outstanding female union officials nationwide.

Dedicated female union official

In addition to her role as production manager, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung has also been an internal lecturer at the factory since 2012. Every year, she directly trains 500 - 1,000 new workers; at the same time, she imparts soft skills and management skills to team leaders and deputy team leaders. With her closeness and sincerity, she always helps students absorb easily, arouses their passion for learning and the spirit of cooperation in work.

Ms. Dung shared: "For me, work is not only a passion but also a pride to work in a professional, fair and opportunistic environment. In particular, working with Japanese people helps me learn many things from meticulousness, discipline to the spirit of constant learning."

For more than 10 years as a member of the Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union, Ms. Dung has always actively advised and implemented activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members, from supporting workers in difficult circumstances, giving Tet gifts to organizing cultural and sports activities, and uniting the collective. For her, every act of sharing is a way to build a humane, united and happy working environment.

After more than two decades of working with Canon Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung still maintains a simple yet profound philosophy of life: "Always seek balance, constantly learn and develop yourself. Live and work with gratitude and positivity; and always improve relationships at work and in life."

Sharing about the example of exemplary female union member Nguyen Thi Dung, Chairman of the Trade Union of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks Nguyen Dinh Thang said that from the position of workshop manager to senior manager and now Deputy Head of Assembly Department 2 in charge of more than 1,000 workers, Ms. Dung has always demonstrated the mettle of a manager in the industrial production environment. She is the "locomotive" in the movement to improve and innovate production, directly implementing a series of initiatives worth tens of billions of VND; helping to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve working conditions for workers.

Not only good at public affairs, Ms. Dung is also good at housework. As an exemplary wife and mother, she and her husband, a sports coach, raised two obedient and studious children. Her family has been recognized for many years as an “Outstanding Family” by the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zone Trade Union. In 2025, she continued to be elected as the Vice President of the Women's Association of Thuong village (Dong Anh commune).

Ms. Dung is a testament to the image of Vietnamese working women in the new era: dynamic, creative, professional and dedicated. With her constant efforts, she has contributed to beautifying the image of female workers in the capital during the period of industrialization and modernization of the country.
