
Previously, on the evening of October 14, Mr. Le Kha Tuan (Hop Thuan village, Dan Hai commune) discovered a turtle on the road in Nghi Xuan commune while returning from work. Realizing that this was a rare animal, on the afternoon of October 15, Mr. Tuan's family proactively contacted the Dan Hai commune police to hand it over.
Immediately after receiving the information, Dan Hai Commune Police coordinated with Nghi Xuan - Hong Linh Forest Protection Department and Vu Quang National Park to inspect, verify and receive a Sa Nhan turtle weighing about 800 grams, in normal health condition from Mr. Tuan's family.

Cuora Mouhotii, scientifically known as Cuora Mouhotii, is an extremely rare terrestrial turtle, belonging to the Emydidae family and Testudinata order. Cuora Mouhotii is a medium-sized turtle and is found in many areas such as China, East India, Laos and Vietnam. This species belongs to group IIB (endangered, rare and precious wild animals in need of protection).
After receiving it, Dan Hai Commune Police handed over the Sa Nhan turtle to Vu Quang National Park to release it back into the natural environment according to regulations.
