On the evening of October 15, 77 contestants of the Miss Grand International 2025 pageant participated in the semi-final night with swimsuit and evening gown performances. Immediately after that, the Miss Popular Vote call was performed on stage by President Nawat and the MC of the program.
Accordingly, Mr. Nawat called on the audience present at the studio and watching live to spend money to buy votes for their favorite contestant. President Nawat’s live call for voting has created a fierce debate on beauty forums. Many opinions say that this live call for voting is no different from “buying the prize directly”, losing the true meaning of the beauty contest.
After the semi-final night, the top 10 of Miss Popular Vote were revealed. Accordingly, the Colombian representative topped the rankings with 20% of the votes.
Following that are representatives from Sweden (19% of votes), Tanzania (16% of votes), Myanmar (8% of votes), Thailand (7% of votes), Panama (5% of votes), Guatemala (4% of votes), UK (4% of votes), Malaysia (3% of votes), Philippines (3% of votes).
It is known that the Miss Popular Vote voting will last until the final day, October 18.
Vietnam’s representative, Yen Nhi, has 1% of the votes in the Miss Popular Vote category. Before the semi-finals, Yen Nhi called on Vietnamese audiences to stop spending money to buy votes for her. The beauty wants domestic audiences to use that money to contribute to support the people in the North who are affected by floods.

The Vietnamese representative explained: “I recorded a video in Vietnamese to call for votes. However, I asked permission to delete that video. I presented to the Organizing Committee about the storm and flood situation in Vietnam.
On my personal page, I also called on everyone to support overcoming the consequences of the storm in Thai Nguyen . Therefore, I want the organizers to delete my clip calling for votes."

Unlike the vibrant swimsuit performance, Yen Nhi walked more gently and smoothly in the evening gown performance. Her turns and skirt flaps were perfect.
Yen Nhi’s performance was also praised by domestic audiences. Contestants with impressive evening gown performances at the semi-finals of Miss Grand International 2025 included the Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, Ghana…
