The leader of the People's Committee of Ban Cong commune said that frost appearing in mid-March is a rare phenomenon because Ta Xua mountain peak often has frost in the middle of winter (December, January).

The lowest temperature in this cold front is generally between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius, with some high mountainous areas below 10 degrees Celsius.

Frost occurs when the ground temperature drops to 0 degrees Celsius, while the air temperature is above 0 degrees Celsius. Favorable conditions for frost and frost to form are at night the sky must be from little to clear clouds, light wind or calm wind leading to large ground heat radiation.

Frost usually appears at night and lasts until 7-8am the next day, in higher mountainous areas it can last until 8-9am.
