Today, October 9, domestic coffee prices are at 113,000 - 114,000 VND/kg, down slightly by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. World coffee prices fell due to the weakening of the USD.

Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices today as of 4:00 a.m. on October 9 in the Central Highlands region decreased slightly, fluctuating between 113,000 - 114,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in Lam Dong province are purchasing coffee at 114,000 VND/kg. A slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 114,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND1,000/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND113,500/kg.

In Lam Dong province, in Ward 1 Bao Loc, Hoa Ninh Commune, Duc Trong Commune, and Dinh Van Lam Ha Commune, coffee prices decreased by VND1,000/kg compared to yesterday and are at VND113,000/kg.

According to experts, world coffee prices are under downward pressure as Brazil and Indonesia enter their new harvest season, causing a rapid increase in supply to the market. Favorable weather in Brazil, with the return of rain, has helped reduce drought concerns, causing speculators to cut back on purchases, causing coffee futures prices to fall after a long period in the highlands.

In addition, the rise in the US dollar also weakened coffee prices. The stronger greenback increased the cost of imports and encouraged major producers such as Brazil and Colombia to sell more to take profits, increasing short-term supply.

Experts say that in the short term, coffee prices may fluctuate around current levels due to the intertwined effects of new supply and stable demand. However, in the long term, the outlook remains positive thanks to increased consumption demand and sustainable development trends of global roasting enterprises.

World coffee prices today

On the London Stock Exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures for September 2025 delivery closed the trading session on October 8 at $4,510/ton, up 2.17% ($96/ton) from the previous session. The January 2026 futures contract increased 1.82% ($80/ton) to $4,468/ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in December 2025 increased by 2.17% (8.15 US cents/pound) to 383.55 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in March 2026 increased by 2.08% (7.4 US cents/pound) to 366.55 US cents/pound.

On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in December 2025 increased by 2.21% (9.95 US cents/pound) to 460.2 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in March 2026 increased by 1.89% (8.4 US cents/pound) to 452.05 US cents/pound.

The 50% tariff that the US is imposing on Brazilian coffee is the main reason for the sharp increase in international coffee prices in the third quarter. Therefore, any signal that the tariff can be reduced or removed could put the market under downward pressure. Investors are waiting for the results of negotiations between the US and Brazilian presidents on this tax policy.

According to Brazilian government data, green coffee exports in September 2025 reached 3.26 million bags, down nearly 20% from the same period last year. Despite the volume decline, Brazil remains the main supplier. Farmers say coffee flowers are in full bloom, but more rain is needed to ensure a smooth fruit set for the next crop.

Global supply has eased, but risks remain due to erratic weather and rising production costs. While Brazil is expected to see lower exports in 2025, there is still ample supply, which is expected to cause volatile coffee prices in the latter part of the year.
